I'm from Oahu, grew up there and I remember the ORIGINAL show. I gotta tell ya', some things should be left untouched and this new rendition of "Five-O" is one of 'em. My 2 slugs? TOTAL FAIL! :eusa_doh: Book these imposters Dano!
LONG LIVE THE ORIGINAL CAST!
I have to agree with Tiller, the ride's been good so far and I suspect the plot will get darker. We see all that glamour and high times, but there's a lot more blood & dough behind it.
Well it's been a while since I've been here, but since my vintage fetish really kicks in right around fall I thought I'd drop back in and start off with a new hat. I just scored a nice "Wynewood" fedora a few minutes ago and was sure this gem would bang out in the $200+ range, but to my...
I read the pictures
This book consists of mostly photos and speaks a little about the gang itself. Those were some tough guys there in Detroit, tough sociopathic guys.
It was Ok, but I didn't really get into it. Seeing Charles Bronson playing a gangster wasn't too convincing and boy was he yella' at the end when the cops nabbed 'em. "Pop gun Kelly!" lol
I scored these off of ebaY a few days ago for like $24 and received 'em just yesterday.
Straight out of the box the uppers are in great condition though scuffed up pretty good. Polishing the shoes probably wasn't something the previous owner did often. The soles are slightly worn, not too bad...
That was an informative post, though I'm set in my ways. I happen to like a high gloss on the toes though, it's an old Army habit. I'm finishing up the used Bostonians I mentioned a couple posts up and will post pics soon.
Well I got my Cole Haan's in today and what a great pair of used shoes! The heel and soles are only slightly worn and it'll be quite some time before this pair sees the local cobbler, but the uppers are in fantastic condition. There was a bit of wax chunked up on it as seen on the above pic...
I was wearing a woodland camo visor for most of the day until I got this in the mail:
a recent ebaY victory.
Then I wore it for an hour or so and packed it up to go to Chicago for a cleaning/blocking. I won't see this hat again for another few weeks. :(
As always, the pics hide the discrepencies. It's dirty and has some sweat stains on the hatband and some of the felt. If anyone's sweat's gonna be on it, it's gonna be mine. :p Aside from that, I think after 62 years it probably needs a nice cleaning and reblock. I spent a lot of dough on this...
What a BEAUT!
Well, I just got my "Flagship" in about a half hour ago and whoah, I'm not disappointed! My face loves these wide brimmed lids.
Alls it needs now is a good clean and block, so it's off to OPTIMO today! I am thinking of changing the hat ribbon though, maybe a rust color...
I was down at GameStop slapping down some dough for Modern Warfare II the other day and asked the clerk about MAFIA II. He told me that game's been pushed back again to MAY! Alls I can say is, I think these developers really want to make sure they get this game done right, It's gonna be fun...
I thought I was unique in this town!
I'm out in Haverhill, MA. I thought I was the only one around town that wore a fedora, but sometimes see another guy walking about town with one. He wears a brown felt stingy, with matching suit and topcoat. I've wanted to stop a couple times and maybe offer...
This is certainly true. When we were kids, we actually had our pants over our bums and they fit right. You know how that went, mom made you put on the pants, made you spin around then stuck her fingers in the waistline and tugged it a few times. lol Nowadays as you already know they're halfway...
