I needed some cheering up yesterday, hence stroller and striped bags with mauve gingham shirt, white soft turndown detachable collar, green/mauve patterned tie and green carnation.
Many thanks all; I was going to work but also meeting a colleague's wife and new baby for the first time, and going out for lunch with two old colleagues, so thought I might push the boat out a bit. Glad you approve!
Unknown vintage bespoke suit jacket, 4x2 d/b in a dark grey material with pronounced diagonal rib, vintage grey fishtail back morning trousers, T.M.Lewin double-cuff tunic shirt with vintage Rocola spear point collar, Dogtooth check Polo tie, vintage MoP links, tie clip and collar studs...
The green hat has a perforated and stitched band and triple-stitched brim. The green satin and cellophane liner is detachable and the sweatband is roan leather. It is by Rheinhut, retailed by Hut-Dessau, Mülheim-Ruhr and came with one of those curious plastic crown forms. On the ticket inside it...
As Robrinay said, a lot of makers made this style. I would say that the "cap" end is very reminiscent of Wahl and their "Eversharp" range but the clip is not the same. So I would say imitational Wahl, and stylistically probably 1930s.

I will see what I can do, with pleasure.
I would like to raise one small caveat in relation to slip material. I have handled perhaps three or four sets of slips, and whilst they were all made of material which was used in other contexts for white waistcoats, ties, etc, none of them were in...
Another little find: black glass or jet bachelor's buttons. Designed for wear with stiff single cuffs, the backs, by an ingenious mechanism, completely detach.
I have decided that mechanical pencils are the way forward. Here are 4 Wahl Eversharps (1 Sterling Silver, 1 Silver Plate, 2 Gold Filled, a mix of England & USA-made) and 1 no-name Rolled Gold.
Just checking in! ErWeSa, you may wish to know that an eBay seller is offering new slips, made by their in-house tailor, for £35 a pair, in both styles illustrated above. This is much cheaper than Ede & Ravensvroft, who were charging £65 last time I heard. A search for "waistcoat slips" should...
My daughter also had this little lot passed down to her from her maternal great-grandfathers, to be disposed of for her benefit. I have kept (for a consideration!) the abalone shell and small damascene cufflinks with the bird design. The other damascene cufflinks are very nice (I particularly...
