Outstanding ! I have a nice 1-10 VHF set and a 1-10A. There was a great deal of thought put into the design of the National tube sets. You have to love the doghouse power supplies, the micrometer dials, and the HRO's coil rack band switching. The HRO is still competitive 70+ years... -

I have a National HRO, which is one of the legendary intercept receivers from WWII. When I fired it up for the first time I heard an unidentified station sending five-letter groups in CW. :eeek: I know what you mean. Spooky ! -
Gibson & Barnes Civil A-2
I obtained a near-mint black G&B Civil A-2 on the Famous Auction Site for an obscenely low tariff. It, like my other G&B A-2s, seems true to size. I wear a 46R in a suit coat, and the fit is nice for both of my 46R G&Bs. The 48R traditional G&B A-2 I have is fine with a sweatshirt or sweater...- W4ASZ
