I received the Balmoral and it is very stiff, so much so that I would expect it to provide substantial protection from falling objects. It weighs about nine ounces, compared to the Camp Draft at six ounces. It is a comfortable hat and looks pretty good in person.

There was a great deal of thought put into the design of the National tube sets. You have to love the doghouse power supplies, the micrometer dials, and the HRO's coil rack band switching.

I obtained a near-mint black G&B Civil A-2 on the Famous Auction Site for an obscenely low tariff. It, like my other G&B A-2s, seems true to size. I wear a 46R in a suit coat, and the fit is nice for both of my 46R G&Bs. The 48R traditional G&B A-2 I have is fine with a sweatshirt or sweater...
