Grazie mille, Eric! Thank you, Brent. When there's so much beauty on display it is easy. Just have to haul the camera around.

Lest we forget: the region is known for its wines, so there was no way we could leave there without a proper wine tasting. If bottles won't do anymore, here's a filling station for the "serious" wine drinkers. On the way home it seems we stopped in Latveria.

Thanks, David. It was indeed. Still quite warm with temperatures around 28 degrees C, so straw was in order.

The next day brought us to Verona, hometown of our very own Daniele Tanto @Daniele Tanto, who agreed not only to show us around town but also had his partner Monica prepare us an incredible lunch with some of the finest wines the region has to offer (and those are very fine indeed). No talk of...

Continued on to Montagnana, a walled city of which there are several in the region. Serious rivalry between powerful families in the region made these fortifications part of the history. Montagnana is renowned for its 24 month aged prosciutto. Quite rightly so I might add. The other food was...

Going to need a few posts for this. Visisted the Italian region of Veneto and this is an impression of that trip. Made the rip by car with a stopover in Austria. This was the view from the hotelroom in Nassereith (and a hat). Our destination was Barbarano Vicentino, just south of Vicenza and...

    Hatbox Homage

I finally managed to land one of these at a halfway decent price. They usually fetch a premium. It's not perfect; one of the straps is broken and the key is missing, but it does have some stories to tell I'm sure. Leather hatbox for a topper. Hat is missing, but it appears to be from the turn of...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

We've seen several attempts to ride on the coattails of Borsalino with fanciful names like Barcelona, Brasiliano or Bosatino (see first pics). Buth this is the first time I've seen an actual and obvious fake on offer as the genuine article. Here are some of the the auction pics. That's just...

    French Hats and makers.

This is the Morreton @Daniele Tanto posted above, but this time in my backyard, as he kindly gifted it to me. Morreton Velrex in the colour Baltique. So it isn't black, but a very dark blue. Lovely velour with the raw edge brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 10,5 cm at the center dent. Morreton was a...
