    Help with {or identify} a hat please.....!

I have a newsboy cap commissioned from AmiCharnel (alas he no longer seems to be making them). It has a waterproof layer between the tweed and the lining. It is my 'go to' foul weather hat and the tweed (Harris) is indestructable. I suspected the felted wool would have some downside. Thanks,

    Help with {or identify} a hat please.....!

But you have not tried their felted wool at all?

    Help with {or identify} a hat please.....!

I really like the look of the cap. Wonder how the felted wool will stand up compared to woven tweed?

    Wolfbrae Custom Hatters

Thank you. The hat was for a doctor. A hat wearer but only cheap wool or cloth hats to protect his head from the elements. This was a leap for him....his first nice hat and a custom to boot. He kept changing his mind, really unsure and he really wanted to get it 'right'. I was very...

    Wolfbrae Custom Hatters

Hi: I just got back from a short vacation in Oregon and figuring out the queue. Will let you know in a few days. The brim started out at 2 1/2" and when curled down to about 2 1/8". I have a few of the Ukraine beaver felts and some FEPSA as well that will give you what you want...

    Wolfbrae Custom Hatters

This Lord's hat is one of my favourite styles to make. Ukraine rabbit felt in Pecan, Coffee vintage grosgrain, 2 1/8" curled brim width, 4 1/4" crown at the front.

Do these leather gloves look like a poor fit?

For me if a glove meant for driving does not fit me snugly then I won't wear them. When driving with gloves I still want the same feel as I would have bare handed. If the glove fingers are too long then the gloves just seem to get in the way of the 'feel' of the wheel. Deal breaker for me.

    Help with {or identify} a hat please.....!

It is a cap rather than a hat. It looks to be a standard 6 panel Newsboy or Gatsby. Just google or Etsy cap makers and you will find all manner of selection including custom makers that will make it to your design.

    M.C. Gannon Hat Company

I made a hat for a young lady, not distressed but that semi western look/wider brimmed look. She referred to it as a 'festival' hat. I had to look it up so I understood what she meant. It is a hat that a young(er) person would wear to a music festival such a Coachella (sp?).

    M.C. Gannon Hat Company

I don't step outside my bubble that often so I was staggered to see how many of the "nick fouquet" style of hatters are out in the marketplace. Perusing Instagram there are waaaaay more of this BoHo style of hatters out there than classic fedora makers. The strange thing is I have yet to see...

    Modern custom vs Vintage

My hatter suggested that as Winchester will not divulge the mink % in the blend his cynical brain chimed in with the thought: A stray mink may have wandered through the felting floor the day they were making the felts so there had to be a few stray mink fibres in the air somewhere.

    Modern custom vs Vintage

I have more than once considered buying a beaver/ermine felt just to see......but so far have resisted pulling the trigger.

    Modern custom vs Vintage

I have a Winchester beaver/mink blend. The hat is wonderful but I can honestly say there is no discernable indication of the mink part of it. Just a good hat.
