Interesting considering the 613SH has 'slim' in the title, though I guess the sizing/model comparison guide makes a note of the 618hh fitting very slim.
I agree that the Vanson is gorgeous and surely satisfies the cross-zip itch, but we know that never stopped anyone from wanting more. I've been on the lookout for a C2 (though probably not as urgently anymore now) but have never tried any Vansons out in person so I am not sure how they fit in...
Reviving this thread after getting this gorgeous 618hh from @tweedydon (who got it from @Monitor).
As alluded to in both of their listings it's just a really fantastic rendition of the Schott horsehide. Has a serious thickness and is gorgeous but doesn't have that kind of vinyl/blinding sheen...
Much too hot for a leather jacket of this weight but I just got it in the mail from tweedydon via Monitor and have to rock it! Could maybe use a less busy background for the pic though lol.
Still dialing in how I like a Perfecto to fit but I would say I'm pretty happy with this one!
Ha! Honestly can’t entirely argue as I am 5’11 but I like a shorter jacket and would say this is juuuust the perfect level of cropped without it being too short.
Can’t thank @tweedydon enough. Just absolutely gorgeous jacket and horsehide. Here are some initial fit pics, apologies for the open fly lol but took another with my belt showing for belt line reference.
Seconded. When it comes to more niche brands like the Real McCoy's (let alone the NZ days) there simply isn't enough demand to warrant a counterfit market.
Add that on top of the fact that a high-quality leather jacket is very hard to 'fake' in that it's quality will be rapidly apparent...
Yes I will have to ask them about their methods once I get the jacket back! I was somewhat surprsied there wasn't a comprehensive thread on the subject when I was looking for one, would definitely be good to have.
I've also seen antifungal powder as a recommendation here.
FWIW I recently dealt with a rather dank moldy jacket and vinegar/alcohol didn't seem to work at all. Didn't try washing it or the antifungal powder but ended up sending it to Arrow leathercare (was $95 for cleaning/refinishing plus...
I'm somewhat similar. Measurements seem to be less reliable with perfectos but I’m hoping this one is as spot on as they should be. Perfectos can be such a guessing game with how the cuts get tweaked so if this one doesn’t workout as hoped I can certainly let you or @Loncster know!
