Does anyone happen to know any remedies to a nylon jacket "shedding" a tiny bit of the insulation on the shirt worn under it?
I have a nylon MA-1 from Bronson and its an extremely warm and comfy jacket, but wearing a black woolen Pendleton shirt under it is a bit annoying with the tiny white...
About 5 days from ordering my jacket with (MrProper level) instructions and a few customizations is already done.
Just recieved pictures and all the measurements and instructions were spot on!
Communication was also really good throughout the whole process.
They had accidentally quoted me the...
Yeah I'd like the hem knit to be 45cm at its "relaxed state" with enough leather to be able to stretch it out to a 50cm with the back pleats. The Schott has 10cm of stretch on it according to my measurements. I'll try to make that clearer.
Thanks for the tips, I'll make sure to include all of them!
I've been thinking of doing a customized order from Fivestar as I've really started to like this old 90s Schott "college" style jacket I found here on the classifieds. Its unfortunately a tiny bit too small on the chest and hem for my liking.
Those who have experience with ordering from them...
A little over a year old, like new Pike Brothers B15 up for grabs. For sale due to the chest being a tiiiny tiny bit too tight for my layering-under needs. Size M.
Real mouton collar and thick wool pile lining.
Non-smoking no pets household, no stains rips or anything of sort.
Located in...
This seems to be the most recent thread where Bronson was discussed so here goes:
I've been eyeing one of their nylon MA-1s and came across a thread about the nylon jackets "staining" a lot in the rain, white streaks and spots and such.
Has anyone here had the same experience on theirs if it...
Apparently they do use a hard rigid plastic material in the main band of the hat, at least on the maciejowka model 2 I was asking about. Shame, I really dislike the rigidness and would have loved a more flexible cap.
That list does not specify what the actual "heart band" material is. I would like for it to be fully woolen so its not too stiff, I have another maciejowka from an independent polish hat maker but that one has a hard plasticy band, which I dislike.
Would anyone be able to comment what sort of material does sterkowski use for the "band" of their maciejowka caps? So the part where the sweatband, visor, crown etc are attached to.
Is there a hard plasticy band or leather inside the wool or what sort of construction do they use?
Ah yes, it was from a totally new member, not that I would send anyone money without proper pictures and proof that they actually own what they claim to be selling. Thanks for the heads up!
Decided to go with a new B15 from Pike Brothers since it seemed like these are very rarely for sale on the forum.
Funny thing is, right after the order was shipped I get a message that someone has one for sale.
Exactly, which is why I wish there was a uniform way this was done. As a customer it is quite frustrating to have to wonder what the price actually is.
I ran into some confusion with the UK VAT and prices as well.
As far as I was aware, the UK listed prices on websites almost always include VAT, if not stated otherwise next to the price. I wrote an email to the UK based online shop asking if they would refund me the UK 20% VAT when ordering to...
Problem with the chinese brands is the hefty tax + customs fees on items shipped from outside the EU, which make their cheaper price tag more in line with Pike Brothers.
The Bronson is about 160€ before tax+fees and about 220€ after.
But if anyone happens to have a Bronson already in the EU...
