I would like to take a moment to applaud our first family for looking so good.
I put this picture on my wall because I'm so proud. I feel like it's the '60s all over again. Here Obama is seen in his favored casual wear: a proper shirt with jeans and nice shoes. Michelle as always is in a...
Nice shirt. To my eye, the risky part is wearing a striped shirt with a highly patterned tie. I think a plain tie, minimal pattern, would be best with a striped shirt. It might be one of those idiosyncratic things peculiar to me. I do tend to be peculiar as far as most people are concerned.
I know there's that ancient shaving thread floating around, but I wanted to talk about a recent realization I had: the important part in the shaving-soap/brush combination is the brush. I prefer unscented liquid soap for my main soap (so that my new natural perfumes are not obscured)...

I got this hat a while back but only just now started breaking it out. It's a homburg with a 1 3/8" rolled brim. Art called me before he sent it and said, "I just wanted you to know it's...well, it's really jaunty." Heck yes I said, bring it on. Oodles of compliments every time I wear it...
I personally can't say enough about Filson. A sweater of theirs I bought almost 15 years ago still looks good as new, and it's been used almost every day of every winter season. I find their Jac-Shirt even is warm enough for Northwest winters. It's uncanny how city folks pick up on what nice...
