Thank you so much for your reply. We share the same pain!
I'm actually a tomboy and don't like wearing dresses much, so if I could solve my pants issue, I'd be able to wear my vintage more often. So, I haven't given up hope, yet.
Yes! cigarette pants....I was searching my brain for that...
Interesting that many people are mentioning things I can't wear, either.
I used to wear 1920s fashions, but as I've gotten (just a little!) heavier, I can't wear them. I'm working on slimming way down, so I'm looking forward to being able to wear them again.
Capped sleeves make my arms...
I'm petite & somewhat curvy (small waist-to-hip ratio & curvier, short legs), and high waisted pants that I can wear with my vintage sweaters and tops are surprisingly hard to find! I seem to have the wide leg pants category covered (easier), but I can never seem to find slim, high waisted...
I've had a lot of luck with vintage 1970s pants. I have a couple pairs of wool trousers that are pretty awesome for 40s looks.
I found these in my latest search but not in my size, thought I'd share 'em with you girls:

OK, just got my Faded Glory Walmart Jeans today that I linked to earlier and the sailor type didn't work for me as the rise was only a mid-rise at 9" (first two links). The third pair had a 10" rise which sits JUST a squeak under the navel, but I think they look very 40s-esque on and cute with...
Yeah, I know. Basically I think the White House/Black Market, the J & Company, The Chadwicks and the Joe's Jeans are probably about a 10" rise, now that I look at them. I'm editing my post to remove those from that list and add in some other options I found.
The Faded Glory ones I'm unclear...
Well, they are custom made, not produced by a factory so the girls gotta get paid for their time. I've got no problem with that, if the quality is there. I can attest to the quality of Kim's/Nudee's stuff but I never tried Jitterbuggin.
Here's some other stuff I dug up.
High Waisted Trousers...
Etsy is a selling site for handmade goods, supplies and vintage. Google it, and you'll see.
Funny! I also was interested in vintage for so long (bought my first 40s hat at 12 years old) before the internet informed me there were other fanatics and subcultures out there. Being in the NY area...
BTW my boyfriend hates those high waisted side button pants I linked and the combo of my cute feedsack blouses (one is a hawaiian print and the other is a multicolored feather print). He says I look like an old person living in Florida. lol
Oh BTW, do you gals know about Kim of Nudeedudee? She makes the cutest clothing, much of it out of vintage fabrics. She made me two button down shirts out of feedsack cotton and these pants, which turned out so cute:
High Waisted Side Button Slacks-that's my pair in the first pic!
She...
I'm only just now getting around to posting on here for something like my fourth post (I recognize some of you! Hi!) Thank you so much for this thread. I've bookmarked several pairs of pants and I'm crossing my fingers about the Walmart ones that Amaranta mentioned, though they look a little...
OK well, there's my avi, I will need to size it down to show more of my face, though. I lack a decent portrait shot. Also--not sure if I'm allowed to post my Etsy shop so until someone says it's ok I'll refrain.
Hello! I've been meaning to join for a long time but never got around to it. I'm a vintage fanatic since I was a pre-teen and I have an amazing vintage collection...My apartment is decorated in danish teak and midcentury furniture mixed with new, I have a small tiki collection going & a small...
