Welcome to the Lounge, Masked Marvel. I understand what you mean about being born in the wrong time. I think I was born about about 70 years too late.
ed bollix, I haven't bumped into you before. Welcome, from another "Michigander".
I have a wind up flashlight that I keep in my car. That way I don't have to worry about the batteries dying, or disposing of dead batteries. It works great while camping too. LLBean carries them in a couple of colors.
Rai,
Welcome to the Lounge from another Michigander. I also have a Fed Deluxe. It is a very nice hat and you will find that it holds up very well in the snow and rain (especially the snow, given your location :)).

Before I discard my magazines I use a razor blade to remove any articles that may be of interest to me at a...

You live and work quite close to me - I live in Allendale. We'll have to try to get together sometime down the road. There are a few other Loungers from the Grand Rapids area so maybe we...
Cooncatbob gives a pretty good explanation here, about 2/3 of the way down the page. He used a drafting compass to draw an even line around the brim of the hat then cut it with a pair of scissors.
Ironically, I just trimmed the brim of my Fed Deluxe last night. I had it done at a (Western)...
