What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

I don't often reply to this thread, although I read it. But today I'm wearing my longhair Stetson Clear Nutria in black. I only had my cellphone camera....

    The Shadow's Fedora...

Yoiks, Doud! That's very faithful...good job! The Pulp character, like many, was exaggerated in many ways, and I think the hat he wore was exaggerated a bit too.

    The Shadow's Fedora...

That's a very nice hat, Duck. But I think one of the definitive things about the Shadow's hat (and it IS a painting!) is the relatively straight sides and that flare on the top AND IN THE BACK. Plus, it seems like the left side of the crease on top is higher than the right...? Don't do the...

My advice is buy a ukulele.

Wouldn't wear it on a rainy day, but ...

Superb, Tony! I have many light colored hats. Occasionally they get dirty or smudged, then I clean them. You just have to have a more careful mindset when you wear them. It is, however, a color that is rare in good vintage hats.

Can we get some love for wool fedoras?

I'm with Carter. I have plenty of beater fur felts to wear. I even have a walk-in-the-woods, rake-the-leaves Stetson Playboy that is pretty beat but very comfortable. I don't own a wool hat. The couple I've picked up have felt (no pun intended) coarse and stiff. Your mileage may differ, but...

    Sportcoat Dating Help

You shouldn't date your sportscoats, because it will make your vests jealous. (sorry)

Yeah, the felt is really thin and doesn't take much to shape it.

Ha. Just for some balance, here's a video of me singing a song called "Houdini Never Hung Around In Bars" with Karen Langlie. And I keep my pants on.

I've already been teased mercilessly on the Ukulele Boards about my legs! My girlfriend titled the video "The Vampire of Ogunquit" beach.

Groan. The only way my girlfriend and daughter can get me to the beach is by making sure I have a chair, umbrella, beer, book and a ukulele. This is a song off my first cd. The hat is one of my favorites: an early 50s (?) Barbisio in brown with a brown ribbon with a back bow. 2 1/4" brim...

Johnny Fedora's Penman Hat Co. Fedora

That is a nice looking fedora, John...but, quite honestly, I have never been able to tell the difference between the various Indiana Jones fedoras...(now, if they were ukuleles, I could tell!)

My first C-Crown "home-made" "Maltese Falcon style" bash

Yeah, Torpedo, those graphic novels are some of my favorites! But my 12 year old isn't allowed to read them. Nice hat. Nice hat that Alan Ladd has on also. Lotsa drape in the brim.

Ironing Woes...Love the vintage Hate the ironing

I iron nearly every day. I like freshly ironed shirts and slacks, and, if I want them done, I have to do it myself. In one of Murakami's books, he has a male character who always irons his shirts when he's agitated. It can be a rather Zen activity. (sometimes, 'cept when I'm late)
