Dry-cleaner vs manufacturer- who is responsible?

I was wondering if anybody could tell me who is responsible for this dilemma. I have a cream coloured winter coat with big black buttons, which cost £200 new and which is 2-3 years old. I only got it dry cleaned for the first time last week, and apparently the label just stated it was a P. The...

    Etiquette question

Sorry if there is a thread for this already, if so please move bartenders :) I am going to a wedding in August and am making myself a dress with a large red and green tulip print on a cream/white background. I have been looking at hats for weeks, and was about to give up when I spotted this...

    New Series "The Hour"

I am currently watching BBC's new series about media corruption in 1950's Britian, and have to say I am hugely disappointed so far. The acting is luke-warm, and the costumes are off - much of it looks more 80's than 50's to me, especially the women. Anyone else watched it?

    SewRetro blog access

I have been reading Sew Retro for a long time, but as of today it seems to have gone private? I don't really understand how or why, but it says it is invitation only and to contact the author. Does anyone know who the author of the bog is, or how to get access?

    Brazilian Carnival Outfit?

I am attending a hen do (batchelorette party) in less than two weeks and have just been told I should dress appropriately for both an afternoon tea at a luxury hotel and an evening at a Brazilian Bar with a carnival theme. Help! Any ideas? I wouldn't know what to wear even if it was modern...

Don't text during a movie at the Alamo, or else...

    Incredible Quilt Collector

This lady managed to collect 651 (!) quilts, without even realising it. Some are pretty old, and it's interesting that she started collecting when they cost $5-10 a quilt and went up to $150. Don't we know what that feels like...

    Garment Steamers?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it in the search. I was wondering if anyone here uses a garment steamer, and if so, which one is the best to buy? I am beyond tired of having dry cleaners look at my dresses sceptically and tell me I need to sign a risk-form. Some of my...

    Best concealer?

Sorry if this thread is a repeat, I did a search and nothing came up. I used to love Revlon Skinlights Illuminator wand, but it's been discontinued, and then I tried YSL Touche Eclat, but don't like it enough for the price. I have been trying the It Stick by Benefit, but find it too drying, and...
