Granted it's an '05 but even with a perfect maintenance record, clean carfax, and about 30,000 original miles it books within $2000 of a new Corolla. The original MSRP was about $110,000. Pretty sick isn't it? It's all about the warranty. Out of pocket repairs are incendiary.
Pretty frustrating. I recently took a new suit into my tailor and asked for working buttons on the cuffs along with the other standard fitting. He refused. Huh? He gave me the same story about the special machine but I always thought machine made button holes were never used on a bespoke jacket...
Not at all. It turned out to be a lot of fun. This was a benefit for the zoo and since it's held in the zoo proper and so outdoors, the heat can be an issue. I think it's an effort to allow people some latitude for comfort as much as anything. Luckily the weather was agreeable and a standard...
My partner in crime invited us to a black tie event next weekend. All well and good, I don't need much of an excuse to pull on the tux. This is an annual event that I've not attended before so I looked it up. Turns out it's creative black tie...
Anyone have experience with such a thing? I...
Thanks. I've had good experience with non-wool slacks. They're a far cry from the cheap polyester of my youth, yikes. I work in IT/Telecom so I'm alternately crawling around under counters or climbing a ladder. I'm fairly hard on slacks so I stay away from high thread count wool at work. If I...
My rules:
1. Shoes, shoes, shoes. This is probably my biggest investment. Buy several pairs and buy quality shoes that can be repaired. That means leather soles. I make it a rule never to wear the same pair 2 days in a row. They need a rest day if you want them to last. I have topy's...
Are those browlines? I have a pair of Allyn Scura "Bartons". Not vintage but very well done. Look at the mid-century collection on this page.

I was a boy scout leader for several years when my son was coming up. We use army surplus foot lockers for summer camp. Durable, fits under a cot, easy to stack and transport, keeps the critters at bay. You can generally find them at surplus stores...
I just received this hat yesterday afternoon and wow, what a lid! The pattern is very classy and the weave count, at least where it applies is over 500wpi. It's nicely supple but I don't think there's any danger of it losing it's shape with proper care. You'll not see me grabbing it by the pinch...
Great news the cath showed no blockages. Much better result than I had a few years back. Believe me, it's way better to do this procedure before you have a heart attack :eusa_doh: . Quitting smoking is one of the best gifts you can give your friends and loved ones.
All the best, Kevin
Uh, thanks bolthead...I guess I need new glasses.
About the ribbon, you should be OK with the material you have. It's just a matter of ironing it out properly. Lay it out on your board and iron it into a gentle arc. When pre-treated properly it will lay nicely on the hat.
