Did the Imgur pictures not post above? I can see them.

St. Patty's Day Special! $400 Aero New

$400 Shipped to US. PayPal or Venmo preferred. Amazing jacket. I wish it fit, but it is just a little too tight on me. Size listed is a 38. It is sized trim, so it should also fit a 36. Please see Aero's measurement tag in the pictures to determine fit. Any questions, please ask. It may take...

Aero Halfbelt Leather and Wool Size 38

https://imgur.com/a/uXipPeK $500 shipped to US. PayPal or Venmo preferred. New with tags. Purchased earlier this year, but it is just too small in the shoulders and arms for me. I waited too long before deciding to return it, and here we are. Absolutely gorgeous jacket, with some really nice...

    Police/Security Leather Jackets?

Thanks for the replies. I do have a Vanson Enfield (do they still make those?) in their competition weight. Fantastic jacket, tough as nails, and affords excellent protection...but it also took two seasons for me to break in. We need to move sometimes, and I don't want us to be restricted...

    Police/Security Leather Jackets?

Hey Guys, Long time, no post. I have recently taken over a K9 training facility, and before I know it we are finding ourselves in prisons, etc. running security details and drug sweeps. I am looking for a sleek, professional, customizable leather jacket that is under $500 for our team. Any ideas?

    Greatcoats

I think heavy, tightly woven wool is fine in rain, just not a downpour. Even better in snow, especially if it is below the freezing mark.

    Greatcoats

I own several heavy wool double-breasted coats, including a blue heather Polish greatcoat, an Aquascutum tweed coat from the 70s (?), and a WWII peacoat. I lived in upstate NY for several years, which is relatively cold, and all of these coats would do fine in such a climate under the right...

    Russian Leather KGB Coat

Leather: My best guess is that it is top grain cowhide, about 3 oz. It is substantial without being heavy, and I believe the hide was a good choice for such a large coat. As I have heard about vintage coats, it is much lighter than my Aero and Vanson. Although it has some damage, it is in much...

    Russian Leather KGB Coat

Hello All, I have been very busy the last few years (and have a daughter on the way!), but I wanted to share my recent acquisition from eBay. The seller purported that this was a private issue KGB/Air Force officer coat manufactured in the 50s. According to him, they were standard issue in...

LL Bean Duck Boots Are Making a Comeback!

I purchased black shearling-lined boots for my wife last Christmas. She loves them and wears them all the time - even in weather I would consider too warm to wear shearling. I never understood why only the shaft is shearling-lined. In my experience, toes get the coldest, fastest. On the other...

    Shearling Length Preferences?

Thanks for all the feedback, gentlemen. I did not think about the corresponding puffiness of the sleeves with longer shearling length - that would definitely be an issue for me. So, I have had the chance to wear my shearling coat a few times (and I finally measured the shearling length...

    Shearling Length Preferences?

Hi All, Long time, no thread. How long do you all like your shearling? (For whatever temperatures and adventures you find yourself in.) I ask because, in my search for something warmer than my heavy wool overcoats, I just purchased a double-breasted shearling coat off of Ebay. Nice...

Can someone help me to date this vintage N3B parka?

Great first post, Twelve O'Clock! Quarter, if you hold out and look around, you should be able to find one with the real fur and trim, and a wool interlining. I found one in decent shape for $50 a few years ago. I don't find the coat itself as warm as I would have thought, but that mouton hood...

    Driving gloves?

I know this is an old post, but cool gloves. They look like driver gloves to me, and a bargain to boot!

    Vanson-enfield

Hi jon11, I just obtained an Enfield a month or two ago! It is an amazing jacket, which I found true to size. I was going to size up from a 38 to a 40, based on some comments here and my predilection to layer, but Wade over at Insurrection encouraged me not to. I am glad I did not: the 38...

    Vanson Enfield

I inquired this morning about the wait for an Enfield from the factory. To my surprise and disappointment, it is 2-6 months. Does anyone know a dealer who has them in stock? As an alternative, I am considering a Schott 689h, which appears virtually identical, except it is made of...

What's the best heavyweight hoodie you would recommend?

I really like Carhartt's heavyweight for work. They are really warm, even without the lining, and these are a steal if you can deal with a "slight irregular" (and wait a little - they are on backorder).

What kind of lining do they use in the sleeves of jackets with shearling?

I have cotton drill over alpaca in my Barnstormer. It is a little bulky, but I do not find it too "grabby" and it is surprisingly warm - warmer than my peacoat sleeves. I am sure it does not stack up to shearling, however.
