Coooeeeee!
Some of you may have already read my hair trials and tribulations over on LandGirl1980 Blog, so apologies if I am repeating myself!
Just wanted to show you the results of a recent trial I did with a chemical & scent free, cheap, setting lotion... thought it might be of some use...
Clothes wise - I always plan my outfits the night before. I leave early on a crappy commute and I do not have the 5 -30 mins to spare in the morning, trying to decide what to wear!
Hair wise - I set it once a week, usually on a sunday night when I have more time. By the time it comes to...
I have no wish to get involved in the big debate that seems to be raging - but I have to say - I am not all that keen on a label. I have no problem with there being one, as such, but I don't know if I would use it myself.
However - it might stop my long waffling sentance of :-
"Oh? How I...
I would always go for an updo. Formal or saturday round the shops. If it is a saturday round the shops then I would usually casualize (i am aware that is not a word...) with a rolled headscarf. Or - just regular rolls and a headscarf all over if it is mega bad.
I think it would have made all the difference - considering how "sympathetic" he was to Hitler's "cause". I can't think that he took a tour of Nazi Germany out of spite after his abdication. I think those leanings had always been there. Or... perhaps it was all "that woman's" influence...? I...
Have to agree with practically everything said here. It is a tough situation to be in - but then if she is actually a friend, then she will understand.
Maybe you could encourage her to get her own dresses - saying something like "otherwise we are going to look like twins!".
They do say...
Vamps rule. Dogs drool.:D
Mitchell can whinge about his eternal struggle as much as he likes - it means he is on my screen more!
But - that said - I do LOVE George. Nina - not so much.
I am interested to see the US version - I had forgotten all about it.
Thanks for the update. I had heard about this on the grapevine - but had lost track of the story. I thought they would have fetched a little more than that - but that's still a large chunk of cash!
I try to dress how I feel. Some days I am in a very authentic feeling mood - and others I am not. But I am not a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl - jeans and shirt, yes - in a Rosie the Riveter (r.i.p) kind of way, so it would always be teamed with a headscarf. But most days I am in a practical...
This, to me, is crucial. That way you can make it your own style rather than buying off the peg items. You can thrift for vintage and modern items that you know will give you the style you want to acheive - because you know your stuff.
Yes - this book has been out in the UK for a little...
I think the best one I have ever had was at a county house in the summer. I was lurking outside (probably having a sneeky roll up) and one of the "guides" hobbled over to me. I say hobbled because the gentleman was 91. I thought he was going to ask me to stop smoking (I get confused these days...
I use distilled witch hazel as a toner, straight out of the bottle and I have a tube of Witch hazel gel on me at all times for those "hang on - that was NOT there this morning!" spots that appear when you check you lipstick after lunch. Kicks them into touch.:eusa_clap
I am currently ploughing through "The Lost Life of Eva Braun" by Angela Lambert. Very interesting read. Although I do get a few odd looks on the train, as Hitler is on the front cover.;)
Poke all.
I found out in the summer that my Nan had the Singer sewing machine, that I had been coveting my whole life, taken .... I can't even say it....
down.. the... tip.
I nearly vomitted in the pond. She was very upset as she had forgotten that I wanted it and much apologising...
