The first nice hat I owned is a Templeform by Stylepark that had been my grandfather's. Can't tell you anything about the company but it's a beautiful hat, great felt and it's held up very well.
That's great looking hat you've got.
Recently won this on ebay. Citation Delegate, which I'd never heard of before. If anyone is familiar with Citation, please fill me in. More pics to come.
I've gone through a couple pairs of Borns that I've found very comfortable. Had some Rockports before that that I was happy with. I've heard raves about Mephistos (I once worked for the J. Peterman Co. and we sold them) but I've found them cost prohibitive.
I've never tried it for something like this, but I've used a product called Nature's Miracle for all sorts of things. It's an enzyme and it's primarily intended for removing pet stains and odors but it works on anything organic. Might be worth a try.
Mentioned elsewhere that I just got a TW2 at a very fair price at REI.com. I've had an Airflow for years but it may have disappeared after a recent job in Indiana. Still hoping it turns up. Not what I prefer to wear around town but great hats for dealing with the elements.
I'd try wearing it for some small errand -- a quick run to the grocery store or picking up the dry cleaning -- just to get used to the idea of having it on your head in public.
Also, realize that hat racks are not as common as they once were, so you may find yourself putting it under your...
Agreed. Grinding the beans is just part of the process of making the coffee for me and it has been for 20 years. The time spent is negligible. Burr grinders are much better although they can be pricey.
If anyone is interested in a very practical if arguably less fashionable winter hat, the Tilley TW2 is half price at REI.com.
Just got mine delivered today and I think I'll be very happy with it, even if I have to wait until fall to get much use out of it.
It came highly recommended by...
Probably should have come and introduced myself here before I started posting all willy-nilly. Where are my manners? Hi. I'm Juggles. I found the Lounge while surfing for a good place to buy a hat since the Mad Hatter in Lexington, Kentucky closed its doors (and ultimately got bulldozed, but...
Just mentioned this in the bow ties thread. I gave all my groomsmen proper bow ties but it meant that I had to tie them all before the ceremony since none of them knew how.
When I got married, I gave black bow ties to all the men in the wedding party as gifts. Turns out, I was the only one who knew how to tie them. So shortly before the ceremony, I had to tie everyone's ties, including my dad's and my soon to be father-in-laws's. I found it impossible to tie them...
Just stumbled onto this thread and I'm giving it a bump since I'll be at the sales at Keeneland tomorrow. I do TV work at some of the tracks, and while I'm no expert handicapper, I can probably answer most novice questions about the sport of horse racing.
Just got this on Ebay for next to nothing. Can anyone tell me anything about it?
Size tag is missing but it fits like a 7 1/8. Has a union label inside the band.
Neither had I. Makes the recent unrest in London seem almost rational.
So was the September 15th date more a New York or New England thing? It would certainly make sense to have looser standards in warmer climates, although rules of etiquette and sense don't always get along together.
