What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

A new red lipstick just arrived for me in the mail! I have been using Rimmel Icon (a bright, bright red), which I bought for around $2, but splashed out on a hideously expensive YSL Rouge Volupte this time. And it's a perfect deep red for me (Rouge Taboo). I prefer a deeper, more gothic look...

    Favorite liquid eyeliner

Annie, I've suffered from blepharitis before (although I currently have it under control), and on the recommendation of my optometrist I used to use Lid-Care. It was also the best eye makeup remover I have ever used. It doesn't sting, helps the blepharitis (although your...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

^This is true. And on days when I prefer Docs and fishnets to pencil skirts and heels I appreciate that other people understand that I put in as much effort that day.

    Discontinued!

Bourjois Rouge Violine Pour Les Divines lipstick. A gorgeous dark wine red, and the formula smells of roses. I'll be very sad when this tube runs out.

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

:offtopic: While I see the value in being neatly and professionally dressed (and I always am for work), I dislike the idea that women must wear makeup to work or to look professional. While I personally do wear makeup to work, I know a number of women who don't, and certainly none of the men I...

    Combination Skin Nightmare!

That's true, MarieAnne, it took around 6 months to work for me too. I thought it was never going to, but it finally did start to show results. And I had breakouts not only on my face, but on my back quite badly as well.

    Combination Skin Nightmare!

Jayem, I have skin similar to yours. I started taking Diane-35 for my skin (like MarieAnne) a few years ago, and my skin has only improved. While I do still get hormonal breakouts, they're not as bad and not as common. What I have found (through looong years of trial and error - no GP I ever...

    Mascara Help

Cake mascara does this too, unfortunately, at least in my experience. I used Lola Loves Lashes cake mascara for a while, and the same thing happened. I think it was actually even worse than the tube mascara I now use.

    Yardley English Lavender

I don't know if you're still looking for this, but I notice that you're in Australia, and my local David Jones has all sorts of Yardley (English Lavender, honeysuckle, rose, violet etc.) on sale in a clearance bin. I would definitely advise looking there. I've also seen Yardley lavender in...

    To the Tea Drinkers

Thanks, I'll definitely look into Valerian next time the sleeplessness gets bad. :)

    To the Tea Drinkers

I'm very interested to try the new Sleepytime tea with valerian root. I drink the old Sleepytime, and I could have done with extra knockout power last year. lol

    To the Tea Drinkers

I'm not what you'd call a tea purist, and I admit to quite liking the looseleaf vanilla flavoured tea that I've tried. Lipton vanilla tea bags are quite another matter, though. I've never come across such an artificial smell - it was enough to put me off drinking it. A new tea shop has...

    The ones that got away

This little scotty dog brooch was so very cute but was out of my budget. http://www.flickr.com/photos/14478655@N05/2164155435/

What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

Luckily I still have an entire tube of Cherries in the Snow, but since I heard it was discontinued I've been looking out for it and haven't seen either the lipstick or the nail polish anywhere here. It's a shame, because although I don't wear it often I love it to bits.

    Favourite Scents

I've been wearing Christian Dior Pure Poison as a daytime perfume lately. It used to seem too heavy for during the day, but now seems just right - quite sweet but not heavy and cloying. I suppose it might be the change in weather. It's unseasonably cool and rainy for summer this year. [huh]

    Oil Cleansing Method

Rose hip oil is some sort of miracle elixir. I've been using it as a night time moisturiser for four years or more. I had reasonably bad teenage acne, and started using rose hip oil on the tail end of it. It made short work of the many purple scars and seemed to help the breakouts heal. It...

Thanks for the info, Lola and Josephine. :) I'll definitely have to buy some oils and start experimenting.

    Oil Cleansing Method

I'm quite interested in trying the oil cleansing method, but I'm a bit worried about the warm/hot water thing. I have pale-ish, thin skin that gets broken capillaries quite easily, especially around the nose...
