    Found images

Rummaging through a bin of old photos, much of which was snapshots from the 70s and 80s, I found some really old negatives. I selected 5 I liked, paid my $2 and change and brought them home to scan. Most of these I think are from the teens. This last one was a much smaller negative, but...

    Seiko Automatic gold face

Here's a very nice working Seiko Automatic. I tested it on my wrist for a few days and found it keeps better time when it's well wound from being worn. That said it could probably use a good cleaning and adjustment. It has a new brown 18mm leather band. The case measures 36mm wide not counting...

    What are you wearing today??

Thanks! The buckle is a Giant Grip (I think that was a name used by Swank for their belt buckles), but I also have a Hickok one. They are very similar. I'm loving this style of buckle, and they are pretty plentiful around here. Are you looking for a particular initial?

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

I Haven't, but I just may try them soon. Thanks!

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

I actually responded to your accusation of prejudice with a counter accusation of prejudice. I put any non-functional article in the same category as jewelry, because it's only purpose is to decorate, and I don't count ties as articles of clothing, they are an accessory, and always have been...

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

Absolutely it's because the collars are too tight! THat's exactly what I was saying. If you can find me an off the rack shirt with a 17.5" collar that doesn't look like a tent on me I'll buy half a dozen. As it is I settle for a 17" collar and an extra slim cut shirt, and it works out OK, but...

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

I'm gonna have to beg to differ here. I LIKE wearing ties, and I have more of them than I know what to do with. Unfortunately I also have a very big neck, and finding a shirt that fits well in the chest and shoulders and also closes at the neck is tricky. The best compromises I've found are...

I'm looking for a good pair of Goodyear Welted dress shoes in black

Allen Edmonds clearance I filtered the search results for black and 360 degree welt, but you can filter for size and style too. 6.PM.com has some good deals on AE right now. Maybe they have the black MacNeil in your size.

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

That's the perfect response. I've noticed in plenty of British movies the "American" characters often wear cowboy hats and speak with a bad approximation of a Texas accent. Far from being offended by the stereotype, it gives me a bit of insight into the narrowness of my own perception of Britts...

Vegetable Tanned Natural Leather & Olive Oil..match made in heaven

I started using this on Brooks bicycle saddles about 6 years ago, when I was out of Proofide, and happened to have a big cake of beeswax on hand. I thought it sounded like a pretty good idea, so I looked it up and found that people had been using that mixture on tack and saddle leather for a...

Vegetable Tanned Natural Leather & Olive Oil..match made in heaven

I make a paste from olive oil and beeswax. It's pretty much what I use on all heavier leathers.

Just ordered: Classic Orient Bambino...One Left

Yeah I have 2 orient watches. Nice watches, but I think the bands always tend to be a bit cheesy. I got a Hirsch band for my Flight, and I really like it. Feels on par with much more expensive watch bands.

Vintage Wingtips, never worn, 11D, Hanover Special Order

These ARE pretty great. I almost bought a pair of Hanovers recently off Etsy, but though they were advertised as 12s they turned out to be 11s.

Thanks Cindy I'm a 12D Some shoes that run large (such as Wolverine 1000 Mile) fit in 11. The Allen Edmonds I just bought are 12D and are pretty much a perfect fit. I appreciate the offer, but in spite of Isshinryu101's protests to the contrary I actually think these Cordovan Macneils are going...

    Show us your SHOES !!!

Yes the suit is navy, and my bride will be in a cocktail length dress of as as-yet undecided color. Neither of us wanted to blow a bunch of money on single use items we wouldn't have occasion to wear again, so we are going a bit less formal. I'm aware that a long wing blucher can be downright...
