The Panizza Oro Malta, mind you The Rothschild appeals, just for the kudos of the name.
That Panizza would compliment this shirt a treat. Chester Cordite don't do this colour with contrasting white collar and cuffs, so Tina is stepping up to the plate and making one for me. We have been fabric...
Her work is, as you say Randy, top dollar, and it's very kind of you to compliment her, but she has always maintained that doing it for a hobby is fun, whilst making a living from it inevitably has all sorts of pressures, like deadlines, stock availability, carrier damage or losses, the list is...
Not all of the shirts that Tina has made for me are traditionally bright and flowery, this green fern leaf print is one example. I love it and I am always appreciative of Tina's talent. How I smile when I get asked: "Where did you get your shirt?" It's the look of disappointment that such an...
It's no surprise that you are pleased Brent, I admired Randall's work on your hat in the photos that you posted on his restoration thread. It's exquisite.
My life insurance company wants my medical renewed so I am off to the doctor's later. My bespoke Gamble & Gunn will have the receptionist...
We have had some seriously wet weather of late, but today the rain has held off. These trousers, courtesy of Tina, are pure wool, so warm, I love them.
I'm impressed, let's see if I can translate: Peckham is a suburb in South London, it's correct title being Peckham Rye. So for rhyming slang, Peckham Rye...........Tie.
One's & two's isn't too difficult they are worn on your plates, (of meat........feet.) So one's & two's are shoes.
Careful...
Compliments to you Eric, what a beautiful shoe. I love the vamp in the same colour as the upper section. Usually it would match the toe, but not your's. What a fabulous pair of shoes.
Inanimate objects, don't let anyone tell you that they are simply inanimate. The crash of saucepans and the very unlady-like language that followed, told me that our saucepans really do have a mind of their own.
How I sympathised with Tina, last week I was putting a couple of glass dessert...
Thanks Stefan, the watch was a gift from my lady, it's a real one, no batteries, you have to rotate the winder to make it go. It's not brand new either, much better it's an Omega, I think it dates back to the late 40's or maybe early 50's. I do cherish it.
Talking of the lady, I'm waiting for...
Catching up on the latest shoe posts I always enjoy going back for a reminisce. Shame on me for not replying to this post, but in defence I probably posted this elsewhere. Still better late than never.
The shoes were made by Colin Johnson. On his website it simply says: "Closed." I have since...
Once you turn forty there's never too much time. It feels like that you have just finished sweeping up from Christmas and it's time to put up the decorations again.
It looks like my missus' coffee after she's stirred in a drop of cream. Now I know why I prefer mine black.
This hat, and those beneath, are advertised as: "Fashion Personality Jazz Hats."
WTF?
Tina & I always give up meat during Lent. You learn to be creative when it's a vegetarian meal. We are not vegetarians and although we go without meat during Lent, we still eat dairy products. Today's lunch is "Mushroom Stroganoff." It's a mix of Olive Oil, onions, garlic, paprika, mushrooms...
We have had one of the wettest, yet warmest Februaries on record.
Who would have thought, Hawaiian shirts in February, but I am not
complaining, years ago we would have been knee deep in snow.
Thank you Joe, much appreciated. After we had bought the fabric earlier Tina suggested that we go for a coffee, there's a great, family run cafe nearby. The fellow behind the counter said, "what a dapper gent," as he looked at my Stetson.
Thank you Stefan, Tina did smile at your comment.
Being semi-retired I don't have to go to work every day. So today, I am taking the lady to her favourite fabric shop, a chore that for me has many blessings.
Just after we came out of lockdown this lovely fabric appeared in her cabin.
Sometime later I was wearing it. Perfect with a summer...
