My car is a '58 Metropolitan. Gets 40 mpg city. I don't know the highway mpg because it doesn't like to go over 50 mph. Some engine issues and the steering is a bit wonky. I ride my Triumph to work so the car only gets used when I have to carry someone or something. It is no show car but it...
I love my 2012 Bonneville! The mag wheels are not as nostalgic as the spokes but they are more practical for every day transport. Just coming up on 9000 miles.:D
I miss Country Bears. Killed by Pooh. At the Carousel I rode a Segway a few years ago. On those days when I just don't feel like going to work, I wonder what it would be like to work at Disneyland. Weird Al even wrote a song about it. I would be happy to be Skipper Dan on the Jungle Cruise...
Whitney. What a waste of talent. Is there something in the talented performer personality that points them toward substance abuse or do we just hear about it because they are popular?
Stephen King is definitely not a car guy. In his autobiography he says his brother was into stuff like "Hearst" shifters. Good luck with yours. Any guess when it will be completed?
As for my vehicles, a 2012 Triumph Bonneville and '73 Mercedes.
Good luck with your search. There used to be tobacconists in the malls around here. They had such a wide variety of tobaccos and pipes. I had some briars and a meerschaum like Sherlock. I loved the smell of the place and all the manly accouterments they had for sale. Some tobaccos smell great...
My old flight instructor used to fly them. He told of one of the engines, possibly the right inboard, losing the prop. He said it was a fairly common occurrence with no pattern. Different planes, different props but always the same engine. Mechanics could walk upright inside the wing, or so he said.
It was not perfect but one of the best films I have seen in a long, long time! I wasn't expecting the humor. Or the Jack Russell. I wish mine were that well behaved. My 21 year old daughter loved it too. What was the last silent movie in theaters? I was thinking Mel Brooks' Silent Movie.
Good luck in your search, Doc. My bomber styled jacket is the company approved vendor, Perrone's horse hide and bleeds onto my white shirts. It has since day one and still does six years later. Mostly the collar but if I get stuck in the rain it bleeds through the zipper area too. I have tried...
The Artist. I took my daughter. She's 21 and loved it. Word must have gone out to the old folks homes. We were there only ones there not on Medicare. There has been a lot said/written about it. I wanted to see it when it came out but it wasn't playing nearby. Now with the Golden Globe win and...
That is a beauty! Once the weather improves I'll take a ride up to Carson City and check out the museum. I have been to the one in Sacramento but it haas been years.
Me too. Thanks to this thread I looked it up. Never heard of it before but it is called "The Poor People of Paris". I always wondered how they name instrumentals. I have heard the tune before. Don't think too much of it though.

I have been on vacation for 2 weeks and haven't shaved except for a bit of a trim. My job forbids it so off it goes. Mine's mostly grey these days. Not everyone looks good with facial hair but I have to say, Andy you look much better with the beard.
