    Queen Helen in LA

Hello, ladies! My husband is right now in LA, and asked me what I want him to buy for me. I want a trunkload of Queen Helen products! But I need to tell him where to find them, so I wondered if any of you girls can tell me where to send him? Wallmarts or something? Thanks in advance!

    Mineral Make-UP

I definately reccomend experimenting with different textures/fomulas. You can also try mixing foundations with powder until you find your perfect one. I have allways loved the silk powder and the rice powder, and I find that priming my face with the powder before I apply foundation, and...

The Best Fiction About the Golden Era?

Can't belive no-one has mentioned James Elroy yet. So I'll make sure to mention him properly: Elroy, Elroy, Elroy. Seriously; read some Elroy. Oh, and did I mention how brilliant James Elroy writes?

    Motifs

The thing with having a motif is that people might start assuming that you like all kinds of junk as long as it displays your motif. A friend of mine is starting to get really frustrated because she loves giraffes, but hates all the extremely tacky giraffe cups, giraffe curtains, giraffe...

    Mineral Make-UP

What formula are you using? EM has different formulas, the "Original Glow" and "Semi Matte" might be a bit shiny, but the "Matte" and "Intensive" are quite matte. And, Gingermore; Silk Dust is from EMs loose finishing powders, it's trasclucent, made of real silk and really helps matting...

Help me date my table and chairs

I think I have seen the exact same table before on the lounge? Have you shoved it before, or does someone else have another like it? It's beautyfull, and I'll eat my hat if that isn't true art deco from the 20s, 30s or maybe 40s, most likely the 30s.

    Beauty accidents...

I'm greatfull for that every day. And I never buy hair-removing mousse any more! My choir leader did something similar to Lil Babs, only with her lips: In the stress right before a concert she reached into her bag, found the lip balm and put it on -only to discover she had used the glue stick!

    Beauty accidents...

Once, I stopped a split second before I put hair-removing mousse in my hair, thinking it was hair-mousse! Same type of bottle, almost the same name.... Scary!

    Help me date these chairs!

It's difficult to date tubular steel chairs like that. Really simple constructions like that has been around since the 20s, like kabuto said, and are difficoult to pinpoint to an area. They are so simple, there are little to go on! Still, based on the proportions, (the height of the back...

Vesta cases and the modern safety match

It's a reason they're called "safety matches", istn't it? They are "safe", in other words, there is no chance of them igniting in your pocket just from friction. Which got me thinking: Is "not-safety maches" really that dangerous? In the days before safety matches, where there lots of...

How Vintage Do You Go? -merged thread-

As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing wrong with enjoying the benefits and oportunities they didn't have in the "good old days." Except from the style and fashion, (my personal taste is backwards to the world in general,) I think that the world in general progresses. And concerning credit...

    Under Eyes?

I hear you all, I belive there are a lot of things you can do with black circles if they are caused by something enviromental. But some of us are just born with it. I have a very delicate, thin skin and the veins are just there, coloring my skin. I can't change that. I also have very high...

    Home Economics

I find that a great incitement for saving is the reward! Simple, but effective! We have a fixed amount for food in our bugdet, and if there is something left at the end of the mont, we go out and spend it on a nice dinner. If you are short of cash, it's absolutely possible to state that we use...
