This is the major downside of buying ancient leather jackets. They look cool, but require maintenance, which can, at times, exceed their coolness. Same thing with "naked" old motorcycles. . . . Great for mods, but a pain in the neck with rebuilds

Schott biker jackets tend to have short arms. If you have longer arms, beware. It probably won't fit. However, if you steal it at a good price, who cares? Wear gloves that go up the forearms like most bikers and you'll be good to go
