TPD, Nice 15, I saw that listing looked good. Looks to me like mid to late 60's from liner and sweatband imprints, would have been $15 model "15" and yes equivalent to 3X Beaver consistant with all from that era that I've seen. Good snag!- KC Capellor

Without a badge or insignia it is just a campaign style hat. Wear it and enjoy it, like smokey the bear and countless scoutmasters. Ormazed, my KF fedoras from the mid '50's to mid '60's are stamped with Beaver 3X and 5X under the Kitten Finish logo on the front of the sweatband. A general consensus on the quality of Resistol's cowboy models
Ditto what Dinerman said, light color silverbelly or tan are coolest to work in and no bleed problems. If you get a San Antonio (Open Road style) you'll have a fine dress hat as well as a fine cowboy hat. Arrived today this "beater" Stetson Open Road 4X. "Stetson" pin on ribbon bow and diamond-pattern white satin liner (1970's?).
