they do fit different, at least their stock sizes, but it also depends on the model and year/cut. best to measure a jacket you already have that fits you well and try to get those same measures in whatever brand you buy.
a stock size 40 schott 141 for me runs wide/loose in the chest/torsoe...
full face/flip up nolan n90 helmet. held agidar/steve/or rainstar gloves.
fox creek grayson with sas-tec armor and back protector is my favorite riding jacket by far. great temperature range. looks great, feels great. definitely protected.
also have textile jackets: an alpinestars...
awesome! definitely post pics when you get it. curious what their brown looks like.
of all the riding leather jackets i've had, the fox creek is my favorite. super thick yet soft leather. great beefy zippers and fantastic functionality (arm & pit zips, full sleeve liner w/neck gaiter)
try contacting fox creek. i think they used to offer brown for a small up charge.
i love my fox creek grayson with pockets for armor - i put in the hitec sas-tec armor. super light and comfortable.
i also have a dainese stripes - i have the black version but i'm pretty sure it also came...
i have a brown brimaco "fight club" style jacket from the 70s. can't remember the exact weight but it's definitely a thin almost vinyl feeling leather. compared to the thick fqhh of aero and super heavy yet supple cow hide of my fox creek, it's definitely a contrast of materials used for...
look forward to seeing your new coat borisna! gotta feel the jacket is perfect for you whenever you reach for it slip it on... it's a nice feeling when you find the right one.
my highwayman (from oldcrow) is a 38/36 (labeled 36) whereas i'm a 40 in most other jackets... and i love it. style...
great looking jacket! agree that the fit looks great. some shots of the interior/lining would be awesome when you get a chance. have fun breaking it in!
i love my wolverine 1000 miles -- got a pair in brown and black. the brown gets much more use. minimal breaking needed because that horween chromexel is butter soft.
i added a rubber half sole (vibram) to extend the sole life but i kind of miss that leather sole now. they run large as...
a second for fox creek.
heaviest leather jacket i own by far (my grayson is 7lbs on electronic scale) compared to 3-5lbs for various schott, aero, dainese.
but it's a very supple full grain leather they use - not stiff like my aero. i love both for different reasons but just pointing out...
i think edward and others are just suggesting that jackets can be "oil pull fqhh" and still be quite different - be in thickness, texture, etc. which i think are quite consistent with the facts that despite similar tanning process, that animals/hides are all different... and what we love about...
i appreciate all the wisdom from you guys! tossing them in a pile definitely makes it harder for the wife to detect a new coat...slowly rotate the newer ones to the top layer.
now she may find it odd me jumping up and down body slamming them but by now, not much i do causes her to raise a brow :-)
would love to see it worn! depending on the person and outfit, some can definitely pull it off. it's almost white so i wonder if it would be a pain to keep clean especially if you ride or even day to day wear...
my dad had a old leather jacket in his closet when i was growing up. he rode motorcycles in his youth -- had some bad crashes too so never wanted me to learn to ride.
undoubtedly i eventually did later in adulthood. so i when i started to ride, being a bit more mature and not the reckless...
that settles it, i'm going to start tossing my jackets in the floor! ;-)
another reason is the jackets are getting heavy (especially the fox creek grayson but also the aero highwayman fqhh) that i see some sag on the rack. and as i've gotten more jackets crowding my dress shirts and pants.
oldcrow82,
congrats on your jacket! i know you were in a bind a few months ago and could feel your pain, especially reading all about the mark situation going on at the time. but i appreciate you making things right after selling me your old highwayman. eternally grateful because i do love...
wow, great find! amazing deal brand new, shipped price. super tempted to grab a 42 myself, 1 left -- it'd fit me well i think. i like the relatively extra arm length and jacket length compared to schotts/vanson.
but i already have a couple leathers for causal and on the bike, all just...
never had a jacket with storm cuffs before the highwayman -- and i love them! one of my favorite parts of the highwayman.
very comfortable and yes, i prefer the look to external a2 cuffs. it's already a thick (fqhh) jacket that it'll never be something i'd wear warm weather anyways.
i have...
