I LOL'd at the description on this hat.
An excellent point, about the idea of different styles based on age being a new thing. I've heard "dress your age" a million times, and it never occured to me that that saying would have baffled someone a few decades ago.
Just put in an order with Panama Bob based on the strong reviews here. My budget couldn't afford anything special quite yet, but since this will be my first straw hat (unless you count those paper ones from burlington coat factory) I at least wanted to make sure I went with a reputable seller.
Mario, amazing hat and overall look.
David, looking good with hat and shades. I can never seem to pull off the leather jacket and fedora look, but you pull it off well.
Perry, great looking hat. The downturn in the back really makes this.
Robert, man of a million hats. Great looking...
Not sure if anyone remembers this hat, which left a faded mark from replacing the ribbon with a smaller one.
I got some larger ribbons and went for a different style. I remember seeing an Art Fawcett hat a while ago with an amazing ribbon style, which inspired me to come up with this...
I'm not sure tophats are much acceptable in any situation, and will always draw attention. I say wear it when you don't mind the extra attention, but only if you personally like the hat and are comfortable saying "to hell with what you think." I wouldn't do it in serious or formal situations.
For me, the discussion is always about "another hat?" and not another suit.
4 suits
18 ties
1 pair of dress shoes, 1 pair of loafers
1 overcoat
2 sportcoats
10 dress shirts
But I don't wear a suit to work, only on my days off. I think if I wore suits 5+ days a week, I would need more variety.
