I couldn’t agree more. Even the shortest one I had ended up feeling too long. I’ll concede my preference has wildly shifted to hyper short for the style. Anything over 25” blunt cut at the hem is just too long IMO.
Ironheart makes a never fade superblack type 3. 21oz denim. I have some jeans in it. Basically like running sandpaper over your nuts and thighs. I had the jacket as well but felt it was a little boring as it would never show any fades. I can’t find a pic but there’s also the overdye that’s kind...
At a certain point finding everything you want in a child’s size is just irritating.

IMO Aero makes a nicer jacket. These look ok. Certainly not bad but I don’t see anything that I would pop the asking price for, not even close frankly. The patterns look really basic and frankly the varenne is essentially just a Walter Dyer. Not trying to piss on the brand but I do think...
Now imagine if you’d simply purchased a decent jacket….you could’ve skipped this foray into self delusion and HP Lovecraft reanimating. Dont get me wrong, I did it too but I did eventually figure out that spit shining a turd still leaves you with a turd.
I tend to agree. Reg did a great job in building the Windward pattern with very broad shoulders and tapering, then flaring at the hem. Actually the aviator was that way too.
The Halfbelt on the Windward did sit a bit higher. On the aviator, the belts were slightly offset.
The example above serves no purpose other than visual. It’s a pleated back. It has no bearing on the jackets functionality. It’s a purely decorative visual element. The only sleeves I’ve seen with “darts” are the newer Carhartt stuff. Are you planning a sleeve with these?
IMO this won’t...
Indeed. A 5 Star sleeve can’t even sit that way flat without being bent by hand, and even then it’s clearly not right. They can’t do sleeves. They just can’t do them. For whatever reason. They just plain can’t. Some better than others but always wrong.
Heard back from Denny, Aero no longer carries Kelpie as the hides were too inconsistant with regard to quality. Trying to figure out which hide to reverse...or see if I can get one done in dark brown split cow...
It’s true and that was kind of my point and I think the point of other posters. I deliberately left out any info you probably didn’t already know. The jacket can easily be dated by the zippers and label (all of which will point back to this forum with a simple google search) which you seemingly...
I think Aero has some pretty hard and fast lines they won’t cross. I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it. Kelpie is very thin, easier to work with. I also pm ‘d Julie on IG to get the machinists feeling on its feasibility!
