I want to make a skirt to go with this sweater. I'm looking for something that will match in style and era. I already have the fabric, it's a nice dark brown. But I can't decided which style would be best!
Check out these vintage hairstyles. The instructions aren't very detailed but it's nothing we can't handle;) Lot's of great ideas, especially for newbies.
Here is a nice compilation of belly dancers from back in the day.

Has anyone here used or heard of Ben Nye makeup? I was flipping through my husbands car kulture Deluxe magazine and I found an article on Pin Up makeup. It's an interview between Sabina Kelley and Jennifer Corona who is a makeup artist. She mentioned BenNye as one of her favourite makeup...
I would like to start a thread for extreme product reviews - things you have bought or tried that you feel very strongly about. If we keep one product in each reply and the name of the product in the title it should be easy to browse and find something that has been of interest. This is just...
I made a circle skirt and now I need a petticoat to go with it. I tried making one but it's been such a hassle. I was wondering where everyone gets their petticoats?
Lately I have been in a slum. I haven't been feeling good/happy. I don't do my hair and I don't wear nice clothes or do my makeup like I used to. And yesterday I realized I was waiting to FEEL like a million bucks, to LOOK like a million bucks. But I think I have it all backwards. I'm gonna...
I've heard a lot about estate sales while on this forum and you ladies are always finding great things there. What's an estate sale and how can I find one?
I always struggle with rolls. I can do them but it usually takes a lot of fumbling and thousands of attempts. So today I took a clothes hanger (the wiry metal ones) and cut a length of wire 8 inches long. I then folded it in half with pliers. It looks like an over sized bobby pin without the...
I read that layers are crucial to a vintage hairstyle. I don't have any layers but my vintage hairstyles seem alright to me, I think. I am way over due for a haircut and I am thinking of asking for layers. Anything specific I need to ask for? How will having layers help vintage hairstyles?
I have little baby hairs all around my face. They are very fine and about 2 inches in length. They also appear to be exempt from the laws of gravity. They fly up everywhere , and I mean UP; I look like Einstein if they aren't kept in check. I either need lot's of grease to keep them slicked...
I saw this in a magazine and thought it was pretty cool. Has anyone tried this? I like that you can send in a tube of lipstick for them to custom recreate.

I've heard wonderful things about perm rods and I've seen pictures of great results as well. I am currently using sponge rollers (not the long bendy foam type) and I am pretty satisfied. I am thinking of trying perm rods and I was wondering how they differed from sponge rollers? dry time...
I've found tons of setting instructions for vintage hair styles but they are all done with pin curls. Are there any setting instruction for vintage hair that rely on rollers?
I'm in the UK for the New Year and I found some foam bendy rollers at the store. They are hard to find in North America. So I am thinking of buying them to try them out but I have SO many curlers at home. How would they differ from sponge rollers? What have your experiences been with foam...
I usually go to the gym in the morning. This makes it pretty much useless for me to set my hair overnight. Unless...I wore my curlers, or pin curls, to the gym. Do you ladies think that would be too much? Is there a better solution?
