Here's a question for our Hatters or Conversion Pro. Can a hat in a larger size be reblocked into a smaller size? As an example, can an Akubra Stylemaster in a size 62 be reblocked to a size 57, thus providing a taller, less tapered crown?
Thanks,
Randy
For a little longer storage you may want to try those plastic bins sold in big warehouse stores. Use cardboard inserts with holes cut for the hat crowns. Also cut the cardboard rectangles about 2 inches wider than the bins, bend and tape the excess to the side of the bins, Depending on depth...
Doc,
I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it. The color is more forest green than Brown-olive. Akubra makes the same hat in Sorrel Tan as well. Check out this url from EA; http://www.everythingaustralian.com.au/displayproduct.asp?page=3. IF you click on the Tablelands hat it will display both...

StrokerCat,
You may want to look at an Akubra Tablelands available from Everythingaustralian.com or from HatsDirect.com. It's has a 3 1/4 inch bound brim and comes in a very nice brown olice color (actually dark green) and a tan color. It makes a very good safari style hat as well.

Lukeiswho, you may want to try AZ-TEX Hats. They are full service retailer and custom hat maker in old town Scottsdale, AZ. You can also find them at aztexhats.com.
I recently purchased a Moonstone Squatter from David Morgan and have been thinking of having the 3" brim trimmed to 2.5" and bash it fedora style or have the brim pencil curled a la gambler style for a different look. What do you think?
