    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Wow, that's a very striking hat. I enjoy seeing less 'conventional' styling and your's tick all of my boxes. Plus a great restoration compared to the seller's pictures!

" The Great British Hat Makers "

Great find Stefan! I'm quite taken by the texture and colour of this. I personally quite like the rugged nature of wool felt - provided it's executed as well as your fine example from Lock & Co. Do let me know if you ever tire of it

What hat are you waiting for today?

Fresh off of the Buy it Now button. Early Huckel velour, suspect around 20s. I'm surprised one of the European members haven't didn't snap it up before me!

What hat are you waiting for today?

Surprisingly another duo - very similar. Early 50s Lincoln Benett in 7 1/8 And I think pre-war, though unfamiliar with the maker:

What hat are you waiting for today?

I haven't really seen much action lately, but had to snap these up from ebay. The first is blue according to the seller; I suspect they've got some age to them - I'm pretty confident pre-war and may even possibly be 20s. We shall see soon enough!

Amazing addition Steve, always a joy to see another old velour in your collection.

    French Hats and makers.

Thank you gents, I'm definitely pleased with the proportions and quality...and the price ;) Thanks Steve, it's pretty close to my Huckels (the hairs on the Flechet velour is just a tiny bit shorter). I'll defer to learned french hat experts, I just thought the label weren't as old as some of...

Latest arrival, a real beaut. Softest velour Fletchet. I'm estimating 40s/50s

    French Hats and makers.

After a long wait my Berteil finally arrived! Looks to be the forest green (or Charmille 'arbor') companion to @steur wonderful blue Berteil. Wonderfully dense and pliable felt, just as good as the older pre wars I e handled. To my heartbreak, the tags reveal it's actually a 6 1/2 punti as...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

A nice olive Berteil lid, guessing circa 40s? Seller also had a lovely brown french hat but I missed out.

Any interest in slightly interesting suits? 36-ish (L) German 3-piece suit, c.1930

Hi Anon, any chance you have photos of showing the jacket? Just want to get a sense of the quarters and general cut. Finally, just to confirm is it black? Thanks in advance.

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Thanks Steve - I knew you'd have a lead on the maker! Re: label, it merely repeats "Ema" as another line below "Garn"

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

I had to immediately snatch this one up. Luckily was looser than the listing size of 56 and fits my 57 head. Im unfamiliar with the maker EMA, guessing this to be about 20s.

Thanks Buddy! I still enjoy the forums but not a lot to add lately - alas the downside of being sensible with my spend :P

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Hope you've all been well! Not a lot of new activity from me, but managed a new addition to the collection. I believe a 30s Brüder Bohms made for the French market. Luckily this gamble paid off and fits me :) edit: I think very similar to one Steve got from Panos bar the backbow

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Thanks gents - reaffirming to see both strands of thought which went through my head. The 11 March 1944 certainly was something I considered, but I haven't found much evidence one way or the other. From a more contextual perspective, Steve's thesis around the geopolitical situation was pushing...
