Bought this jacket from eBay a while ago, but it is too long in the body and sleeves for me to wear. Almost new condition, horsehide is still stiff and could use some breaking in, etc. Thought someone on the Forum might be interested.
Measurements, etc., are included in the eBay...
Langlitz Columbia in black goatskin with Cossack collar, chest pocket, map pocket and gun pocket, with shoulder and elbow patches (without the diamond stitching). Quoted to be ready end of March, and received yesterday.
This is a very ‘moto’ style jacket and not intended to be worn off the...
Wanted to share a few pics of my new Johnson Leathers Kangaroo café racer jacket. Kangaroo is mentioned occasionally here but I haven't seen many examples of it. It is unbelievably light, but offers superior abrasion and tear resistance so I think it's ideal for motorcycle jackets in...
I thought I'd tap into the knowledge of this forum re: A2's and patches. My wife's grandfather flew in WWII: 15th AAF / 82nd Fighter Group / 97th Fighter Squadron. Assuming there was a patch for each of the designations, where would I place them on the jacket? I assume the 97th Fighter...
I'm in town speaking at a conference, so I took the opportunity to have my Elk jacket taken in a bit in the back and sides. Also ordered a custom motorcycle jacket in black Kangaroo with armor. Alan took the time to show me his business, some of the custom jackets he's working on, and share...
I've seen some nice Lewis Leathers jackets on TFL, and as I am getting a Triumph Bonneville T100 in a few weeks, I was toying with the idea of staying 'British' and procuring a motorcycle jacket from Lewis Leathers. I like the Dominator and Roadmaster. From a fit perspective, does Lewis work...
Received a new Johnson Leather jacket last week and was able to try it on over the weekend.
Specs:
Hide: Black elk, 3.5 oz (love the grain, the hide feels halfway between Bison and Goat, very supple and wearable out of the box)
Lining: Oxford grey Japanese Cupro (provided to Alan)
Styling...
There have been a lot of threads lately around leather quality and its attributes, as well as topics around tanning, full vs top grain, et al. I found this link on StyleForum which has a wealth of objective information culled together by people with an interest in these and related topics...

I noticed on the order page that there are many patterns you can order that are currently NOT linked off the home page on the main site. Have people ordered these patterns, and if so is there information about these patterns available someplace other than the Goodwear site?
Here's the list I...
I got this in the mail, and thought it might be useful for those pondering the purchase of a Schott:
Coupon code: LASTCHANCE14
15% off at checkout.
Not sure if it's ok to post this here, so I understand if the mod's feel compelled to remove the post.
I'm wondering if anyone knows the shoulder widths of A2s produced in 1931-43 by contract. From what I can gather, early Werber designs had a wider shoulder to waist ratio than most. Anyone with definitive knowledge that could offer a relative ordering of contracts? I'm asking because if I get...
Some pics of my new LW Leather Peacoat. Peacoats are my favorite jacket design so it's not surprising that my first purchase of a significant leather piece would also be a peacoat. LW quality is directly palpable: weight, smell, texture, 'feel', it has it all. The hide is a black elk, which...
Obtained these measurements from ELC via email after inquiring about the sizing of the Luftwaffe jackets in 40/42. I don't know why companies just don't post this information on their web sites. It took me over a week to get this information.
LUFTWAFFE 40 REGULAR
ARMPIT TO ARMPIT: 58.5cm...
Thought this might interest some of the leather jacket aficionados on the forum. A natural evolution of RTW to 'made to measure' leather jackets would be 'bespoke.' I'm not aware of many bespoke leather jacket makers out there; but this may stimulate research for those who are interested...
