Great set of photos from 1940s era New York, in color.
Some very interesting photos, including many hats:

Originally, I wasn't very fond of long-haired hats either, but they just seem "right" when the weather falls below freezing, and you're wearing a big overcoat, scarf, and gloves.
It's almost as if the added texture of the long hair gives the hat more "oomph" and helps it compete with the...
New Long Hair Fedora - my first!
Picked up this beauty from eBay. Wore it out today in the sub-20s weather. Loved it. Great look, great fit, perfect condition.
My recent eBay find
Picked up this Knox Custom off of eBay about a month ago for about $35 all in. Great conditions. Fit perfect. Brushed it, misted it, took a diamond bash like it was made for it, very pleased with this hat! It's a charcoal with a bit of brownish tint and a black band.
Putting up for sale a hardly worn hat. Purchased back in January, worn out maybe 3 or 4 times, never in harsh weather. It's a great hat, very comfortable fit, I'm just not a "tall crown - big brim" person. I don't like the look on me.

I'm flying to Dallas tomorrow for a few days of training. The weather down there is supposed to have daytime highs of nearly 80 degrees.
Even though it's only March, can I get away with wearing a straw hat?
*Yes, Hornets.
*No additional charge for the bound brim
*Seemed like 3 weeks, perhaps? Would have been faster but they were out of the felt I originally requested.
*binding is not perfect, but looks fine overall

It's a Christys' Adventurer, and it's actually "Bessemer". The hat is really a dark charcoal color. It just looked blue due to the flash. It does look gorgeous in that photo, though. The full frontal shot showing all four hats is more indicative of the true color.
It doesn't normally come...
