    Props to Lost Worlds

So the zipper on my raider started sticking. Contacted LW and they told me to ship it in. Send it in and a few weeks later get my jacket back with the zipper working perfectly. But here is the kicker: The repair was only $47 including shipping from NY to LA! Nice to see they stand by their products!

I did not know LW would do such an interesting custom project.

    Thoughts on Schott quality?

Schott is top quality but not quite up there with the very best. Still very much worth owning. I started out with a Schott Leather jacket a few years back but lost weight and the jacket does not have tightening straps so I sold it on ebay. I bought another Schott, a beautiful suede jacket that...

    Optimal Weight/Thickness

I generally agree with your statement. That being said leather's incredible durability, ruggedness, and looks remain compelling to a minority of individuals. Also natural fibers like leather, cotton, and wool are better for the environment (though I won't pretend leather manufacturing is 100%...

    Optimal Weight/Thickness

The first thing to keep in mind is this: High quality jackets may be made of thick, medium, or thin leather. Poor quality jackets are usually made out of very thin leather. So in some ways this is a case of the classic logic problem where a->b but that doesn't mean b->a Poor quality jackets...

    Zara B6 Clone - £89.99

IMHO there is nothing wrong with wearing faux leather and a lot of it looks pretty good initially. The three reasons to prefer real leather are: 1) It lasts much longer 2) It often looks *better* as it ages 3) It breathes better So ultimately it is *your* decision how to spend your $$$ and if...

    What's ya'll opinion/experience on Lewis leathers sheepskin?

My bicycle gloves are made of tough sheepskin. During a spill where my wheel ate my rear derailleur, when my hands hit the ground I could not even feel the pavement, and the gloves have no marks.

Matching your Leather Jacket and Shoes

Leather converse! Good idea... wonder how long those last.

Matching your Leather Jacket and Shoes

Sneakers look a bit odd with a high end leather jacket, but I suppose it could be done once in a while. I usually wear leather shoes or boots with mine. Brown and black are both neutral colors that go well with almost anything, so IMHO wearing black boots with a brown jacket or brown boots with...

Aero Price Freeze till 31st Aug

Regarding wait times, I think they are a little conservative but not excessively so. Demand for high quality, hand made, customizable items is on the rise.

    Aero "Black Soft Steerhide"?

Yep then you realize there are other makers like Lost Worlds, Schott, Lewis, and more.... Abrasion resistance is always useful although mid weight hides are more than good enough for casual wear.

Seems like a reasonable precaution to take for such an expensive item.

    Break in at Aero

Yeah, it's kind of like bicycles. Used bikes can be a great deal but unfortunately there is a very high chance it is "fenced" property. Serial numbers help somewhat. But with a jacket if there were such a thing it would be on a flimsy tag....

    Break in at Aero

For most hobbyists protection by obscurity is probably ok. For Aero maybe a safe would be a good idea in the future? You figure a basic Aero is $1k... limited editions much more.

That's horrible. Hopefully insurance will cover the loss.

    Women's leather jackets

I totally agree. I don't understand why more companies don't use goat for women's jackets/accessories. It's tough as nails and soft. Seems like it would be perfect no? I mean women don't care as much about durability as men but it's still a bummer when your sleeve tears or your purse strap breaks.

    Lost Worlds Full Grain

LW is fantastic, but I would not say that it is always the best choice for everyone.

    Women's leather jackets

Schott does make a perfecto in cowhide. Not sure how popular it is compared to the lambskin. Women do have different priorities in general when it comes to clothing. They value comfort and style more than durability.

    Most Useful Pocket Setup ?

The chest pockets are useful for things you want to keep handy but not your hand warming pockets. For instance, a parking ticket maybe. It keeps it more secure but still more accessible than the interior pocket.
