Where did you purchase that hat? It looks well built and nicer than the one I picked up at Tractor Supply. http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/dpc-straw-hat-with-green-visor?cm_vc=-10005
The old school pith the military used are actually quite good at the job they were intended for. The suspension system allows for a lot of air flow, and they also don't that weigh much. I use one, and I almost forget I'm wearing it at times. They aren't plastic, but some kind of pressed material.
Thanks for the feedback. Wish I could see these shirts in person before a purchase.
I did find one that is very close to where I live, so maybe I'll look at that one. http://www.guideboatcompany.com/apparel/men-apparel/cpo-shirt-jacket.html
The pockets on the Fidelity look a bit too large from...
I'm thinking about picking up a Navy CPO shirt like I used to have back in the 60's. I've looked at some places online, and prices seem to be all over the place. Does anyone know where they might sell them that are of the original style and melton wool as issued back in the 50's and 60's?
Thanks.

The jacket is now being made once again by a company based out of San Francisco. They are made in China, but the quality is on par with the originals. They are way more expensive than the originals, but I still bought one. They are a great jacket, and perfect for the likes of Bay Area weather...
No. There was an initial offering to those that pre ordered via their website. It was quite the fiasco trying to order, but I finally got in. I had first registered at a store in the city, but months later, I was told that those orders were now void. Then after months of waiting for the jackets...
I finally got one. It's pretty close to the original, but I don't have one to compare. Two obvious things that are not correct are the knits and the color. Those are two pretty important details. Color wise, it's a much brighter blue than the original Navy. Knits are too puffy. I got mine for...
I too like the style, and have been looking for one for years. I did buy the Scala Sam Snead, but returned it. Brim was too small, and the coconut straw too coarse.
There was someone a couple of years ago here on the Lounge that said they were going to be offering a proper hat, but it never...
