What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

First time out fishing this year, and the first time searing my SunBody fishing hat. My youngest daughter was in town and we spent the afternoon on the lake, and she totally out fished me. :)

    Sahuayo hats

If you are buying a new sweatband and accepting the effort/expense to sew it in, I have to wonder if there is any price advantage compared to SunBody?

    The Resistol Roundup

This just arrived and it’s even the size the seller claimed: 7 ¾. Obviously well-ventilated and a great conservative 3 ⅜” wide brim.

I have several custom hats for several different hatters. I’ve never met any of them in person. It might seem a bit scary, but ordering my long distance has never been a problem for me. There is a facebook group called: Custom Hats and Hat Makers: Fedoras, Homburgs, Western, and Cowboy That...

    Playboys on Parade!

I dig this ice-blue-gray felt. No labels hiding behind the sweatband, but it measures as a US size 7 or 56cm. The raw edge brim with a single decorative row of stitching measures 2 ½ inches wide.

I’m hugely impressed with the quality of this pilgrim. I wasn’t expecting a hat of this caliber. It’s in fantastic condition too. The size is US 7 ¼ or 58cm. The brim is a generous 2 ⅞ inches! It’s every bit the equal to the Royal De Luxe Open Road of the same era.

    Post New Hats Here!

Gus Miller of Batsakes Bros. I’ve had a few Gus Miller hats pass through my hands and they all have been from, at a guess, the 1980s or newer. None of them have impressed me. The crowns have all been too low and all have had a lot of taper. Perhaps that’s how his customers like them? The build...

The current Campdraft is listed as a 5 ½” open crown. That’s from Everything Australian and David Morgan. Some here have said their crowns were taller, but mine were right at 5 ½”.

Lots of custom options where you can specify the crown height. Some customs aren’t even as expensive as the off the shelf big name brands.

Nice. I really liked big curled brims. We don’t see enough Knudsen hats around here.
