I was just looking at the Trench Coat thread, and I see it is closed. But if you look at the one picture of Gregory Peck in the Trench Coat, look at the break in his Trousers over his shoes. Couldn't be more perfect...
Just wondering the thoughts on this. I saw a photo of the Rat Pack, with Peter Lawford wearing what appears to be light grey socks with his dark suit and dark shoes.... Thoughts???
I sort of "Inhierted" this desk from my Great Great Aunt Lela that was the Post Mistress in Winslow AZ in the 20's and 30"s... Anyway, it's nice desk.one of the desk and chairand the chair
I purchased this device a few years ago at a St. Louis Gun Shop. I was wondering if there is anyone here that might advise if it is "ORIGINAL" Military Issue and the time frame. Based on what I find, there are NO Reproductions, that have the screw back and pins on the ends/drags of the swords...
A few years ago there was a great thread on Inkwells. I know I posted one of mine that I'd love to find more information on. But all I know is it is stamped on the hinge Patented Aug 8 88. Any ideas from anyone on this?
Thanks for anyone who has any ideas.
Back to the old debate. Should I button the bottom button of my vest.
I recall going to the haberdashers back in the '70's buying a few suits. One had a straight lined 5 button vest and the shop owner told me, "always button the bottom button of a 5 button vest". The other suit had a six...
I have been wanting some new shorts for summer, and I don't find anything that doesn't just scream I am a sheeple. So, I was looking for Gurkha shorts and found them at WPG. As always lots of conversation over size, I ordered one size up as that's what most of the commenters recommended...
Last night I was a little bored and wanted a glass of red wine (I haven't drank much in the last 10 years because of my rosacia), so I went down to the wine cellar and pulled this bottle of 1998 Franciscan Oakville Estates Cabernet... I wasn't sure what to expect. So I opened it, the cork was...
In looking up old family photos while at Dad's for Deer Season I came across this one. Taken December 1940, My Dad, in the grey tweed suit with vest and a fedora in his hand seems all decked out for the day. All of 10 years old. My Granddad in a typical Blue Pinstripe suit (with Double...
Just wondering, bought a new suit, and Jos A Bank gave me a plastic bag to bring it home in... I have been told not to store garments in the plastic bags from the cleaners,(as they have acidic issues) but just wondered everyone's thoughts on using the bag from the clothing store???
Thoughts?
I've had Haggis a few times, the first time, I believe it was "TOO DONE". Just seemed to taste a little burned. My friend loved it. Had it again, seemed "JUST RIGHT", not as done, I loved it, my friend thought it wasn't done enough?
Anyway, always enjoy it on Burns Night with...
Well, I was at a convention last week. Wore my usual Khakis, button down oxford, and saddle oxfords. While sitting in a meeting with my leg crossed across my knee, an inordinant number of people that walked by commented on my argyle (khaki, with blue and white squares) socks. Saying something...
You know, I loved their Waist Overalls, and they quit making them. They were cut a little trimmer than most of the other companies, and looked a little better. Pennys also made a pretty good waist overall also. Many are just cut so darned full ... Anyway, I find a pair on one of the auction...
Well, somehow or other I got a spec of Meltonia Cognac Shoe Creme on my shirt. How do I get it off? Spray it with resolve prior to washing? Put gunk hand cleaner on it?
HELP! :)
Thanks..
In the movie THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR, Steve McQueen is drinking from a Napoleon Crystal snifter. A few years ago I found one on the net, it had the same "N" Logo. Does anyone here know anymore about that crystal? I'd like to find a snifter like that one.
Thanks,
