I don't watch the show, but I do feel fear (and loathing) when I see this ad. What a terrible hat, poorly worn. Makes me not want to watch. Sorry, had to share.
An amazing set of photos from Dorothea Lange. Not just for the period content, but also as a reminder of a terrible thing that happened in that time and can happen again.

Hi All,
I know mink oil products are generally not so great anymore.
I picked up a can of vintage Bailey's mink oil shoe grease. Generally
I'm a Pecard's guy, but this cost almost nothing...
Should I use it on shoes/boots? Could it be spoiled? Could it be great?
Anyone with any experience...
We mention this leather jacket company from time to time, but I can't find a thread dedicated to them. Please post your images here.
Went to the https://deyoung.famsf.org/summer-love-art-fashion-and-rock-roll exhibit today. A couple of East/West jackets were featured. Pictures to follow.
Just stumbled on this. One for the A-2 fans. WWII enthusiasts will want to
check out the other albums there, too.

This belonged to a friend's dad. His dad served in Hamburg during the Korean War and in the South Pacific in World War II. Any idea from which stint this uniform dates? Thanks!
Fished out a Canadian police jacket! Looks to me 1930s or 40s. Horsehide.
I love bad listings.
Seems to have a shearling lining, with interior cuffs and an interesting wool
piece behind the neck, which preserved the leather there (usually the first to go).
Yes, that's awesome fabric at the...
Saw this at the flea market today:
Soft, half-belt-like jacket, maybe 60s or 70s?
I did not purchase the jacket or even try it on.
It seems like a reasonable side business for a taxidermist, I guess,
but not where I would go for my fashion.
Not sure if the company is still around...
Hi All,
Found a vintage leather jacket in a store in
Hudson, NY the other day.
It's some of the heaviest leather I have ever had-
heavier than my FQHH Aero for sure. There are no
maker's marks except on the back of the snaps, where
it carries the impression of "Durable - DOT - RG"...
This guy is amazing. Don't miss this vintage shopper/designer in Namibia:

Hey, check this out. Picked it up today for ten bucks! Note the original keys
and wood/leather/brass construction. And big enough for my large Mac laptop.
I would like to treat the leather (the outside and hinge leather, not the inside calf)
with something to preserve it. I am inclined...
This article says used hats are too gross to use:

If anyone plans to throw out a vintage hat in 7 1/2 long oval based on reading this, perhaps I can help take it off your hands?
Anyone familiar with AE's grey dress calf?
This looks like a killer deal if that leather is nice.
Please let me know if you're familiar with the leather. And here's
hoping someone gets a good deal...

Possibly the last jacket Mark Moye sent out... I waited over 2 years for this.
I'm not going to say it was worth it, but I do like the jacket. FQHH, made by Vicki.
Customizations: hand warmer and flap pockets removed, internal "G1" pocket,
HH label inside internal pocket, black cotton drill...
Hi All,
Anyone have a small vintage top hat they want to get rid of cheap?
Can be quite scuffed up, as long as it still looks cool.
Yes, Halloween is coming up (and it's not for my much larger brain pan).
PM me?
Thanks!
No, nothing about what's going on there now.
This is an amazing video showing the 1937/38 (Mussolini-sponsored) race.
Check out the hats, among other things (hence locating this thread under hats). In particular, the
stingy hat with a back bow at about 2:48. Not a style I would expect for...
As has been discussed here before, Stetson Imperials, especially from
the 1940s and 50s, are hard to come by. So when I saw one a year ago
in size 7 1/2 for chump change, I decided to take a chance, even though
it clearly had problems.
When it arrived it I was both pleased and saddened. On...
