Did I find my hat? Yes, I finally did. Hiding in a secondary hat storage location. In my home. Doh!

I did the same, from a craft store, and it works great . . . . But . . . the thing about the Terry cloth one is that it can be put right on the sweatband instead of behind it, so the rippling that can happen is not an issue. And being Terry cloth, it will absorb sweat nicely. I am thinking of...

Dorfman Pacific is the parent company now of Biltmore I believe, and the Biltmore line manufacture was taken over by Milano Hat co., which is another subsidiary of Dorfman Pacific. Not sure if Dorfman Pacific is owned by Hat-Co. (the hyphen seems to be in its name, as there is another Hatco in...

I looked through all the Fall/Winter Biltmore catalogs that I have, but for F/W mine only go back to 2014 (I have SS back to 2011), but found nothing just like this. A number of similar hats, to be sure. In looking at other pics of the hat (the blue one), it seems to be a diamond crown stingy...

The hat in this pic is a different one that the one that appears in most of the pics I can find on google. Same style, but different color (Blue) and hatband.

Unless of course you keep looking for it after you have found it. I don’t expect many do, but in this current world I make no assumptions.

    Hmmm . . . Do moths like hemp? ( . . . Perhaps my son smoked it?)

Where is my hat? (I bought 5, but one cannot be found. It never left the house though.) I guess this may be a bit of a rhetorical question of sorts.

I am no pro, just have a lot of hats that need reshaping. I found I could buy the J2000 for less than the J1 online, so it seems worth looking at. Is the J2000 a floor model? It is described as "compact" so I wold think it is more a tabletop item, like the J1. The J4000H is the more...

For those that have them, what’s your favorite hat steamer? In particular, any thoughts about the Jiffy model J-2000H ?

    Hats in restaurants

To me, jarhead has always sounded rude, if not pejorative. I wouldn‘t use that term in speaking with a marine I think. But Jughead, on the other hand, is a wonderful appellation, where applicable, in the general US population.

    Post New Hats Here!

This hat arrived today, from an eBay purchase. Mentioned in a post in the “waiting for” thread. Biltmore Cordova Panama Hat, from 1917 anniversary collection. The hat is size L, and fits great, though just a shade large, so added just a little behind the sweatband and it sits very nicely...

In my usage, felt could mean fur felt, wool felt, cotton felt etc. (I make my hat sizers from cotton felt from the craft store) I too pretty much exclusively prefer fur felt, but I do have a few nice wool felt fedoras. Two pork pies by Kangol (their “Linotype” model), a Ben Sherman Trilby...

    Hats in restaurants

I don't eat out at many restaurants any more, but when I do I usually am seated outside. I trust it is acceptable to remain hatted while so seated?

    Post New Hats Here!

Two more ebay hats arrived today. Here is the first. Biltmore Fur Felt Porkpie 2” brim. This was made in Canada, so from time ago, and appears to be NOS. The seller called this the “Orleans,” but it is an earlier, unnamed model. At one time, Biltmore had only model numbers, not names, as I...

I wasn’t terribly grabbed by their hats, but they do appear well made, as afar as one can tell from a photo. The sizing would also be an issue for me, as 58 is best.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

The first to arrive of my recent postings in the “waiting for” thread. This was a sample for 2017 Kentucky Derby hats by Biltmore, but is exactly the same as their Guelph hat mentioned in their 100 year anniversary catalogue. As I mentioned in the other thread, this is the third I have of...

What hat are you waiting for today?

Ok, this is the last one. (No, really, it is.) Four new hats should keep me for a while. No wait, make that 5 new hats (forgot the one that came already). Yes, this is another Biltmore, from their 1917 anniversary line. This is a genuine Panama, but finished in the US of course. Biltmore...

What hat are you waiting for today?

I have figured out that the straw hat I just bought and posted above,, from the 2017 Kentucky Derby series, is based on, if not exactly, the "Guelph" model from the Biltmore "Founder's Collection" put out for their 100 year anniversary in 2017. They are described as "Premium Hand Woven...
