    Hats on TV

When Homicide: Life On The Street was on, Andre Braugher wore a fedora a few times. I always thought he looked sharp with it, in addition to being a wonderful actor.

I love it! What a great story!

Wore my Federation Deluxe to Crystal Skull

I agree. I enjoyed the movie but it does seem a little sad to see Indy showing his age....HF still does a great job but it's a little odd to see him aging.

    psychology of the hat wearer

I agree also. I definitely feel a much different "vibe" when I am wearing one of my fedoras with a suit or sport jacket; almost like I am back in the 40s or 50s (I wasnt born until 1962, if that even matters) and thus expected to behave more like a gentleman. If only we had a resurgence of this...

Anyone else dreading the new Indiana Jones film?

I can't wait to see this film. I admit that after ROTA, I went looking for a cool fedora just like Indy's, but I only found a few knock offs that, to me, didnt' look quite the same. I am still hoping to find one. I have a black Jaxon and two gray ones but not one in brown. Village Hats is...

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

I haven't received any negative comments yet, ( I am sure they will happen at some point) but I sure have seen a few rather odd looks. Some people look and then try to act like they are NOT looking, which is kinda funny too.

"Marion! Dont look at it! Look away, Marion!" :)

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Now THAT is a very nice hat. Nice "Indiana Jones" look there. Excellent photography as well. I like the way it's lit.

The nicest comment I ever heard

A woman could read the directions for taking aspirin, or from the phone book, in French, and it would be flirty to me.

Has this ever happened to you? Or do I need a MRI?

Ive had some similar sensations, but it's usually when I stand up too fast, and it just goes away within about 10 seconds. Still, I would suggest you get it checked anyway, just to be safe. By the way, GWD, just wanted to say the hat in your avatar really suits you well. (no pun intended.)...

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

ROFL!! That is hilarious, and the same kind of response I would have been tempted to give. Okay, I probably wouldn't have said it out loud but I would have been thinking it.

Brims - How do you like them

I steamed the brim last night. (wow, sounds like some sort of weird spy code: "I steamed the brim last night, but the birds came home to nest.") Seemed to help a bit. Still not as stiff as my two new hats, but it certainly is better and not as loose as it was.

    Self-Conscious?

Ah, yes, Adamsville. I drive through there and Forestdale every morning, 5 days a week, on my way to work. Nice town. :)

    Self-Conscious?

Excellent advice, HamletJSD. I never looked at it that way before. I will definitely work on not acting fidgety, etc. Thanks.

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

I think you're exactly right. A well-dressed person commands more respect than someone who habitually dresses slouchy or sloppy. Like it or not, how we dress plays a big role in how others perceive us, and what kind of impression we leave. Of course, we can't always walk around in suits and...

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

I have a rather odd sense of humor, and I would have been tempted to lean forward, speaking into an imaginary microphone, and say something like "I have no recollection of that, Your Honor." Of course, the joke would probably have just gone completely over her head, but I would have had a...

Restoring A Not So Stiff Brim

I mentioned this briefly on another thread, but I thought I would start a new topic and get some feedback. I ordered and received a black felt C-crown fedora and a gray Jaxon Bogart this week. I noticed that the brims are much stiffer on the new ones than on the gray felt C-crown I have had...
