    My understanding is that discontinued means the factory is no longer making them (for the foreseeable future). There were guys inquiring with Trudi at Hats Direct back in June about specific models, and she was already saying then not to bother with the order because they couldn’t fill it.

    According to Hats Direct, Akubra has discontinued about a dozen lines including prominent models like the Squatter, Campdraft Deluxe, Stockman, etc. So if you’re thinking about getting an Akubra, it’s probably a good idea to see if the model is going to be around or already sold out.

    That’s because if you compare the size guides of the Australian dealers to David Morgan’s Akubras, David Morgan hats are 1/4 inch smaller for the same size. It’s really weird.
