    Berets, Anyone?

The manufacture de bérets universal is a very good option as it's adjustable. Their tarts are more or less what I wear all the time. As for the unlined boinas Elosegui bérets I would advise caution as you'd have to stretch up and they re-tighten. They are quite well felted and probably too hot...

    Berets, Anyone?

Yes, I've tried this and works well. In France there is also a natural product called "terre de sommières" which is great for removing dirt and bad smells. I also cleaned a wool béret using this. I put the béret in a plastic sack with terre de sommières and the béret, mixed it up and left it in...

    Berets, Anyone?

This is Boneteria Auloronesa 12p, The photograph I just took this morning. The photograph seems to make the wool look about one or two shades darker and the colour seems a slightly warmer tone in reality too. I think it's a very nice shade of brown in real life. This béret is now I suppose...

Have you looked at the Basco Roma berets, made in Italy? I like mine very much. I find it quite a good summer option, it is very well densly felted and at the same time quite thin. I often wear it outside in the warmer weather and find it works well.

    Berets, Anyone?

A happy day, as I recieved a new béret in the post, and costing only 10€. A small Boinas Elosegui from " Le Bon Coin" a Website used a lot here in France for people selling personal items. It is quite compatible with the Basco Roma, but a little thicker and without a leatherette headband.

    Berets, Anyone?

I bought a Blanc Olibert, which I discovered is actually a Boinas Elosegui with the PEBEO label sown on. The beret is of excellent quality but the head band is very stiff and has grown increasingly uncomfortable over the years to the point where I have now given up wearing it. When I next get a...

Recently visited Orthez to buy a béret from Manufacture de Bérets, I was very tempted by this one, a 9 pouces in Bordeaux (you can't find this on the MB website if you want one). Visiting the workshop was a very pleasant experience, we chatted bérets and béret gossip. Hats off to Sara Goupy for...

    Berets, Anyone?

I have a Basco Roma which works quite well in warmer climes. The wool is well felted, but it's thinner than Boinas Elosegui berets. I find I can wear it on quite warm days without a problem. The one I have was sized with a headband, which was a problem. The leatherette headband was bothersome...

Thanks Daan, Boinas Elosegui bérets certainly are stiff, I get what you mean. But when I was in very heavy rain storm, I was glad of it. Practically waterproof. A very thick béret and not for everyone.

My B.A. (Made by Denis) is my go to béret, I wear it all the time when it is not too hot, and sometimes when it is too hot... I have not yet been to the new shop, but it is on my list of things to do!
