Not sure why it's inserting some pics and making others attachments, but here is the other one.

    James Dean Jacket

Reviving this old thread! I enjoyed reading this one, so I thought I'd share a recent acquisition that was in part inspired by it. I've been looking for a good James Dean Rebel jacket for a long time (since I was a teenager, honestly). Since a red Anti-Freeze is impossible to find, and most of...

In the waning days of jacket weather here, unfortunately, so I'm trying to enjoy while I still can. 1950 Hercules, my new prized possession/favorite thing I own.

    Sears Motorcylce Jacket History 1949-1963

Nice! So mine is definitely California Sportswear, good to know! The sheer number of variations in details among the different makers is astounding. I love looking at all the differences, and they are all so cool.

    Sears Motorcylce Jacket History 1949-1963

Adding my new Herc to this wonderful thread. I spent all day yesterday (in between work stuff), reading all 20 pages of this thread. A fascinating bit of archaeology! Thanks to everyone who has contributed, and especially @tmitchell59 for kicking the whole thing off. From what I read, the...

Thanks! I feel very lucky with this purchase now, especially with all this great info. I will definitely add it to the Hercules thread when I get some fit pics.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I talked them down a bit. I got it for $350, including tax. I think that’s not bad, right? Judging by my quick google search in the store when I was trying it on, ha.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I just picked up this beauty from an antique store today. I think it’s a Sears Hercules but I can’t read the label, and the label looks different from the ones in the great Sears MC catalog thread by @tmitchell59. But maybe it’s a late 40s/early 50s Hercules judging by the lining and the D...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

New-to-me (courtesy of @tmitchell59 ) 1940s wool half-belt, Ricky gab jacket (whatever you want to call it). It's way too cold for this one today but I just had to wear it because I was so excited. It's a beautiful piece. Check out that back! And that giant collar! A little on the slim side, but...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Just received this stunning 1940s wool half belt from @tmitchell59 last night. I'm over the moon. It's a little on the slim side, but I think it still fits pretty well. What do y'all think? I might have to throw out my entire wardrobe and rebuild it around this thing as the centerpiece.
