Well, I think the "Varenne" looks great on you. I really like this model and the "Terracotta Western" nubuck leather.
Yes, the arm length is borderline, but still within the acceptable range. You can see how well the jacket suits you from the linked video. But I know exactly what you mean: the...
Thank you for the information.
A person in the forum told me that if I get the Aero Half Belt in a different leather that isn't as stiff as FQHH, I might not need to upgrade the size.
Basically I'm happy with the size of the natural Half Belt. Of course, 1 inch more here and there would be good...
I'm blown away: I was that person who asked a simple question about leather care and got an insight into a material (leather) that I had never seen from this perspective before.
Incredibly great pictures! I'm excited. Great that you created this thread!!!

My natural Aero HB is thinly lined, the brown Aero Type 3 is also thinly lined with wool. Both have exactly the same measurements in my critical areas (waist, bottom/hem). While the thinner Vicenza leather quickly hugs the body, the FQHH remains an instretchable armor.
The Aero HB of interest...
If I used the narrow/narrow buttonhole on the sleeves, I could still put the jacket on, but I wouldn't take it off because my hands are too big. A small hand might be able to do it.
And no, I really hope the cotton lining on the leather base doesn't sag - it's a Thedi, very well thought out...
Yes, I don't know Steerhide and it sounds very interesting to me.
The only question will be: Is it more "yielding / more flexible" than the stiff FQHH horse? For me it's about finding the right size. I can close / button up the dark brown jacket made of Vicenza leather very easily because of...
Hi
They say: CLX Steerhide is stronger but softer than CLX FQHH. Is this correct and how does it work in practice? I've noticed that the fit of a jacket depends heavily on the leather used. My Aero CLX FQHH is stiff and inflexible, despite frequent wear the material has little give.
While my...
I keep reading that you can shrink leather.
Some sources describe the method of, for example, placing a leather jacket in a hot bath until it is completely soaked and then drying it under the direct sun or using a hairdryer on a hot setting - the idea behind it seems to quickly dry a soaked...
This is the model called “Markos”, but I suspect it is also offered under different names. I bought this exact jacket from Thurston Bros.
Carrie @ Thurston Bros met my taste in terms of size. Please also note the measurements provided (body vs. jacket measurements) in this thread.
I find the...
Many of us simply want to dress beautifully, look stylish, or strive for an ideal, sometimes even an ideal of days gone by. I'm tired of today's trendy fashion. Almost all people look the same in some way. Fashion serves all people, whether man or woman, young or old. The fashion industry lacks...
Contrary to some opinions, I think that black leather jackets can be combined with both brown and black boots and vice versa.
It would be ideal if different colors were made of different materials, for example shoes made of suede and jacket of full grain leather (or vice versa) - but it is not...
I forgot to take an A/B comparison photo, but look at the result. I achieved this result with a horsehair brush and medium force in the brush movements and I am thrilled.
Beforehand, I tested the leather area on the inside of the jacket to see if there could be any scratches. But my horsehair...
If you know what you're doing, you can make incredibly beautiful pieces, in this case a notebook cover.
You first have to understand the interaction between leather skin, tanning process, light and other substances as well as environmental influences during the life cycle. As mentioned, I can...
To be honest, of course I thought something like that. There must be a deep understanding of biological and chemical processes in order to answer a yet 'banal question' in such detail. I'm still impressed and find it interesting what different people with deep know-how are in this forum.
In any...
I do not know what to say? I am deeply impressed and have never seen macro shots like this before.
Incredible - are you actually a tanner, biologist or other scientist?
@spectre6000
Wow - that's what I call a profound answer. I already knew there was a lot of expertise in the TFL forum, but now I'm blown away. Thank you so much for this well-founded explanation. I think I got it - it's indeed a full grain leather.
But the pictures would be really perfect, not...
