How do folks react to your hat wearing?

I had one of the nicest things happen at church a couple weeks ago. I usually wear a western style fedora [broad brim] and there is a teen boy there who is autistic. He has kind of take a liking to me and he said he really liked my hat and asked if he could try it on [this is VERY unusual for...

What do you use to shave?

There's a reason some products stand the test of time. I still like the Van der Hagen soap pucks!

Mike, I too, am a sucker for vintage revolvers. Great match up with the Colt and holster. I picked up a little vintage job too, a US Revolver Co .32S&W[made by Iver Johnson]. A sweet little gun and even found a stash of ammo for it in the "How did I wind up with this ammo?" box.

Wound up with a swap today and wound up picking up a nice condition Walther P-1 [nee P-38 with aluminum frame]. Always wanted one, it will look good along the Luger. Looks like this one was made in 1981.

    BATTER UP!

Well, the Cardinals have addressed the short term starting pitching they needed, now if we can add some bullpen arms without gutting the positions we might look like a contender again.

    Your golden-era model railroads!

I have definitely enjoyed this thread. Just getting started back into model railroading [N scale] and using the Gorre & Daphetid as my inspiration.

And another new arrival, picked up a GSG522, a 22 "clone" of the MP5. Can't wait to get it to the range.

One of the perks of working at a gunstore is having something useful come in unexpectedly. Found a Ramline camo stock for my Savage 270, looks much better than the basic black stock that came with it.

Wound up swapping for this yesterday, a Rossi Ranch Hand in .45 Colt. Can't use it in Cowboy Action Shooting, but it's gonna be fun to shoot anyway.

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

As you mentioned traveling, that is why when traveling I wear a Western style Crusher hat. Stands up to the indignities and abuse of traveling better than my stiff hats. Just wish I could pull off your elegance with that beret!

Well, I had a recto-cranial inversion last week. New guy at the gun store I work at is taking gunsmithing courses through SDI online. I had picked up an Aero AR lower sometime back and when Palmetto ran a nice sale on the rest of it I picked that up. The store owner was cool with seeing if the...

I had Meprolight Tritiums on my carry gun and they were still usable after 17 years. So I will be getting those probably. However the newer one with fiber optics around the tritium vial are pretty nice also.

Before I retired, I carried a Glock23 for 17 years. Butt ugly, but a fantastically reliable and tough gun that stood up to the abuse of working a High Risk Parole Unit. It was scarred up from the job and I hope someday to be able to get it when the department trades them in. But...the other day...

What do you use to shave?

Doc, I use the Van der Hagen basic pucks that I order from the big river company. Not fancy or expensive, but boy they make a really nice lather.
