i just received a resistol 990 it says on the inside sweatband. self conforming beaver 25 kitten finish. This one came with the original box and has original tags inside . unfortunately i have no pictures so if anybody has a picture of a black resistol 990 feel free to post it here :-)- skwerl-hat

The information is from an article where John Garvan Cavanagh, manager of the store at that time, was interviewed. There are photos, but none show hats well enough to tell. Favorite crown height and brim width
i'm finding i can only wear a maximum of a 2 inch brim and a crown of about 4 1/2 at the most. a wider brim and i tend to look silly.- skwerl-hat

Since you shouldn't grab a hat by it's pinch...
I am usually a crown grabber myself, but when i started wearing hats i was a brim grabber. I habitually adjust my hat once its on my head by the front brim and have actually damaged a few brims by this habit. Does anyone else do this?- skwerl-hat
