I added those pinches myself. It's the only way a homburg works with my face. They aren't deep or sharp, so it might be possible to steam them out, as the felt is not stiff. Nobody else has nibbled yet, so by all means, sleep on it.- Not-Bogart13

Nutria felt, with a soft velour-like finish. 3" rolled brim, 1.5" ribbon, 4.5" crown (creased). The label says 61 / 7 5/8, but I'm a 60...- Not-Bogart13

Indoor Headwarmers
Depends how subtle you want to be. There are plenty of stretchy caps around in stores this time of year. Sort of modern fabric watch caps. I see a lot that look like microfiber in with some of the athletic clothing at Target and such. Otherwise, I would go with a lightweight fabric flat cap.- Not-Bogart13

I see a difference. If it were me, I'd go with Enfield. It's got a little extra character. The other seems a breat away from a ball cap... but maybe you like it for that reason. It can be tricky when buying without a try on (a reality most of us must deal with), so heed Bob Roberts about...- Not-Bogart13

I wish I could say it's easy to find an actual hat store, but... it isn't. If you want hats with "character," it's still not cheap, but getting second hand fedoras on line that are a bit beat up is less expensive. As far as experimentation, I think your instincts may be right on what brims and...- Not-Bogart13

Yeah, you know, that might be it. The height might be OK if the brim was wider, or the crown was straighter. I hope that helps rather than confuses.- Not-Bogart13

It does look like it's riding a little high on your head, so it might be a little too small. But it could also be the angle of the photo. I think the style would look fine on you if it the fit was right. If you put the hat on straight, how many fingers can you put between the hat and the tips...- Not-Bogart13
