Mens Hats
By: Giuliano Folledore
I recieved a copy of this book for Christmas and remember a few people commenting on it. After reading it I felt compelled to write about it. This will be the first in a series of reviews about the books in my collection.
It seems that Mr. Folledore is...
I order a couple of feather weight dress bodies with my last felt order andhave just completed one. It is natural beaver with a 4 lignes bound edge and 4 lignes band. It has a 5 3/4 inch crown which a shaped to a teardrop and a 2 5/8 inch brim. The finished weight, with liner, came to 3 oz...
Last time I was at the stetson/resistol factory store there were several Stetson Pinnacles (the beaver version of the temple). I will be back in Dallas toward the end of next week and was thinking about buying one and taking it apart to reblock, fix what ever may be wrong with it, and the put...
I have heard more than one person talk about the lack of books on hats. I have to say, I have a shelf a 2 1/2 feet long that is over loaded with book that have something to do with hats. Half of it is information on the history of hats and hat making, the other half is books on mens fashion...

I have been working a full time job and working on hats at night. My shop has gradually gotten worse and worse (cluttered). My ADD is going nuts with all the distractions around. I am going to take the next 2 to 3 evenings to get the place cleaned up and then get back to hats. If you have...
I have just delivered 6 of these hats to a store called Dean-Kingston, in Fort Worth. I need to come up with a name for this style. It is pure beaver with two inch brim with a hand created over-welt and a 1 1/2 inch ribbon.
So, suggest names, I will compile a list and take it to...
I made this hat at the request of a member here. I was going to wait until he posted pics, but I was down loading pics from my camera and found these. He can speak up about the hat.
It is a beaver felt brim, with a milan straw crown.
He can probably put up better pics, these are the...
I am contemplating buying the equipment to make hat flanges, followed later by blocks. The will be direct copies of the old flanges. I will be making copies of the flanges I have on hand, as well as copying flanges others send me. I will be able to make different sizes from exhisting flanges...
I did an interview in march and they finally ran the story.
I have to say somthing about one of the quotes which was taken out of context. About being the person to come to when other hatters can't or won't make something, I don't say that because I feel I am better than others. I say it...
Hey Guys, I have a couple of meetings in Austin on Monday. If anyone would like to get measured up while I am down that way let me know, I will bring my stuff.

I decided I needed a new hat, something other than my normal natural beaver.
I decided on Navy Beaver, with medium brown ribbons.
Here it is. No, the color is not spotty. I am still trying to figure out how to photograph hats.

My Dad found this old Bradford with a Cavanagh edge in an antique store. It was a size seven and was a bit chewed up. So I turned the back to the front and resized it to a 6 1/2 (the smallest block I have) and it is still a bit big, but he likes to wear it.

I saw this on ebay(auction is now closed) and called singer to check it out. All they could tell me at the time was that it had something to do with sewing hats.
