    Film Noir?

My pleasure, Blackthorn! Love to talk about old flicks, especially noirs.

    Film Noir?

I work in the video industry, and I recently spoke to my rep about Cry Danger. Unfortunately, it is not available on DVD, and Widebrim is right, a VHS copy is very expensive. I do know that the Film Noir Foundation just restored Cry Danger, so there may be hope that it will become available at...

How did you find the lounge?

Found it on Retro Radar as a link. Don't know how I missed it before, because I've always looked at fedora's online, in addition to many vintage living sites. So glad to be here.

What is your favorite decade in film?

The 1940's specifically for the great film noirs, even though some really good ones were made in the 50's. Also really enjoy the Technicolor musicals of the 40's. Just a really fun time for films in general.

    Great post-classic noir.

I really enjoyed The Machinist. Also feel that Memento was very well done. Dead Again from 1991 was excellent, and I also like Collateral. But hard to go against The Usual Suspects.

    Indy V

Word is that Spielberg was not overly happy with the overall story of Indy IV and that V would be a "we can do better" movie if ever made. Sure, it's about the money since IV made a ton, but he has hinted in a recent interview that he felt it could have been a better product. Harrison Ford said...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Just watched "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" Sun. night. I had not read the book, so was unprepared for the film. Wow...simply beautiful, and haunting.

'The Best Years Of Our Lives'

Very true, not quite the caliber of Best Years, but a solid flick with many of the same themes. I completely agree. And what a great supporting cast: Shirley Temple, Agnes Moorehead, Lionel Barrymore, Hattie McDaniel, and Robert Walker. It even won the Oscar for best score by Max Steiner. Great...

'The Best Years Of Our Lives'

This is hands down one of the top five movies of all time, at least in my humble opinion.

    Great Movie Soundtracks

I love the work Howard Shore did with the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I'm excited to see what he has in store for us with The Hobbit, that is, if he scores it. He did remark that during the filming of LOTR, that he was quietly working on music for the Hobbit, and had some pieces he was really...
