Thanks.. Yeah the feather literally fell off the shelf when I picked up another hat and I thought 'hey that black and red might look cool with the brown.. what the heck and just stuck it in for a try'. So I guess it's a hit. I'll keep it. :) Kinda makes me think about German beer for some... -

Awesome color! I'll have to get some daylight shots (dry) of my brown CD for comparison. Man I really gotta get that SLR I've been wanting. Point-n-click just doesn't do colors justice. -

I think BobC and a few others in here have a mid-brown. From the pics I'm seeing I'm betting this one be a brown instead of fawn. The fawn strikes me a lot lighter.. Beautiful colors all. Now I want one of each!! :) If she draws in a little and forms up to my noggin, I'm sure this hat will be... -

Thanks. I actually forgot I had the feather stuck in there. It was actually a leftover from another hat I picked up that had a bunch in the ribbon so I thinned it out a bit. It's a black feather with a skinny red one in front and yellow-black "dotted" on the bottom. I thought it'd look cool... -

Maiden voyage today. Pretty good rain. Wearing it now actually hoping it will draw up a bit around the sweat. Still a tad loose. I get the impression they must be worn and weathered in to fit right. Don't know if the pic will work for all.. FINALLY snapped a pic of the campdraft. Finally found a nice rainy day to get 'r out in the weather. Got a prototype diamond bash going now after it got good and soaked. Excuse my ugly mug. -

The diamond really brings out distinctive lines in the hat. Very sharp! Ok.. I gotta try this. Gotta soak my CD before fall arrives. I sure wish it would rain here! LOL! -

Nicely done Indy! Looks sharp. Granted there's the Indy connotation but I think that particular bash is really slick with this hat. I wasn't too successful with my Campdraft but she's way new and really needs a good soaking. I just haven't taken the time yet. It's got a tear-drop in it... -

Miller Fed & Bailey Homburg
If I may resurrect.. The Bailey Homburg is still for sale. $30+shipping continental US ??? Fair? Granted it's no vintage fur felt, but it's a sharp hat and very very comfortable. I wore it once as Master of the Lodge to confer a degree and for that purpose it's excellent.. Homburgs as not...- babs

Mailman was good to me today. :) Definitely a deep rich mid-brown CD. Fit is good though a touch on the large and round side which I'll take.. Better a bit large than too small. Takes a quick bash without steam ok however, she'll need steam and a good plan I think. Such a tall crown... -
