This unlabeled heavy Horsehide jacket compares seam to seam with my 1940s labeled Star Glove. The main Zip was replaced with an older quality number 10 Talon. Not the cleanest job many original stitch holes were missed. The belt loops have been removed. Conmar sleeve zips and ring pull pocket zips. I have three Star Glove jackets and the horsehide on this jacket is consistent in weight and presentation with the Star Gloves. My labeled Star Gloves all have the same smell and this unlabeled jacket has a similar smell just less strong. I judge the jacket to be size 46 large on me. This is one badass jacket, the badge patch gives it more attitude than my non badged size 42 straight zip Star Glove. In the side by side pictures, the labeled SG is on the right $400 PPFF includes shipping conus
That is one really nice piece right there - almost museum quality and preservation level! I have a friend who was orignally from California and in in law enforcement now. I'll send this ad to him as he may indeed be interested. He rides as well. The size should be pretty close -
Shoulders measurement is 20-1/2" The leather on my Star Gloves and this non-labeled jacket are broken in but still have some stiffness Lost Worlds heavy horsehide comes to mind. Nice graining on his jacket particularly the two large back panels
I'd be all over this if the sleeves were shorter. Incredible jacket. Great price for a SG too! Cool pic.
