1940's rain coat

The only real waterproof rain coats I have seen are waxed over.

This one gets wet, though it dries faster than others I have seen.
It is straight wool.

Scotch guard only works usually in light rain. It wears off quickly in my experience and does nothing in really bad weather.

If I were going modern I would get a microfiber coat. They are the closest to waterproof you can get without the wax.

Finding a rain coat that holds off the rain is like finding a gas can that doesn't leak when pouring.
